If you properly install Nitrous on a car, it won't do more harm than Forced Induction.
1 thing I like about Nitrous is you don't always have to use it, if you use a S/c or T/c, it's always somewhere, so you're always pushing more HP somewhere. |

I don't hate nos, but I do think it should be used on cheap, non warranty, non essential vehicles. Everything has it's place and for me nos is on a track car.
Just a personal opionion. |

I know this is the v8 forum, but what do you guys thing about spraying the LLT v6?
How will the DI be effected by N2O? It would probably have to be run with a wet system with DI, right?

nitrous is hard on a motor. and you have to constantly refill the bottle. I would rather my car have the power there whenever I want it all the time.

Robin Lawrence is at the NMCA race right now running the GMPP car on nitrous in the late model shootout. You can probably get some results at NMCAdigital.com

as for why you like nitrous.... thats part of the reason I have moved away from it. I like having the power there all the time. helps you to keep respect for the car's power. actually yes. having the power there and having the motor tuned for it is easier on the motor than throwing a huge amount of power at it at random times.

I am throwing the BS flag there... having a 430BHP stock engine putting out 600BHP day in and day out through a "there all the time" FI is going to put a lot more wear on hard parts then putting out that same 600BHP a couple of times a week through a properly tuned nitrous setup.

now, running 600hp all the time does put increased wear and tear on things. I wont argue that, but its only putting a small percentage of what you are throwing at it with the equivilant nitrous setup when its first fired. so basically, s/c and t/c = lower amount of wear over a longer period of time nitrous = more wear over a shorter period of time.
