Hey guys. I've been reading the forums for awhile now.
I recently bought a 2013 SS and would love to join you for the cruise. I live in Sevierville so I don't see any reason I couldn't make it

Flying the Skyway

I had a chance to do a pre-cruise yesterday. Wow!

The views were spectacular. The drive through the Cherekee National park, down through the Dragon and over through the Foothills Parkway was exciting. The only thing better than that is to add 20 to 30 muscle cars roaring through the Skyway and ending with a bonfire and FREE FOOD from the Muscle Car Ministries.

Don't miss it! Everyone is invited.

We will leave the Wal-mart parking lot on 411 in Maryville at 1pm on Nov 3rd. We will travel to the Cherohala Skyway and stop at Turkey Creek overlook for a break. Then we will travel over the skyway and turn left on to Joyce Kilmer Lane, where we will travel around Santeelah Lake and stop at the Drago Store on 129 for a break. By then we will be warmed up for a trip down the Dragon around Tellico Lake and on to the Foothills Parkway where we will take a short break. We will end at the bonfire in Maryville about 6pm.

Let's do it! We had a great time with the MCM group when we went to Norris Dam a few months ago, and they're a great group of folks. Plus, the Cherohala is the best road in our area. Add in the Dragon and a cookout afterwards and this should be a great trip. The long range forecast is 70 degrees and clear. Sure, the cruise is the same time as the Vols play Troy on Saturday, but who wants to watch the worst defense in UT history give up another 500 yard / 30+ point effort to their next opponent?

Hope to see everyone this Saturday @ 1:00pm in Maryville, and thanks to Dan for helping to make all this happen. Here's a link to MCM for those who are not familiar with their group: http://www.musclecarministries.com/Home.php

Cruising that way would be great (have to see if my other plans have fallen through first ... and make sure weather cooperates).

Just in case y'all missed it, I posted up a link in the TV5CC social group but will add it here as well... November 10 is the date set for the Music City club's event at Ft Campbell to benefit Operation Homefront and their Holdiay House (toys for children of Ft Campbell soldiers and wounded warriors).

If y'all are interested in attending or if ya have any questions, shoot me a PM or sign up in the main thread ... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=256395

Last year we had 25 5th Gen Camaros on site (we were limited in how many we could bring) and are hoping to have more this year (we have been told we can bring as many as we want and are hoping for 35-50 cars).

Were ready for the Dragon! Got the Z cleaned up in case it doesn't snow and the Jeep cleaned up in case it does snow

Just got back from Good Guys in Charlotte and found out Earnhardt was still around and kickin it in a 5th Gen.

Hey, that one had to be your favorite. I wouldn't be surprised if your ZL1 doesn't have a #3 on it before too long! It isn't looking too good for the Cherohala and Dragon this weekend with a bunch of snow in the mountains, but hopefully it won't be there on Saturday....

How was Charlotte? The #3 Camaro in your picture was at Indy, and it had some Childress performance stuff on it. Kinda surprised it didn't have "Cowboy Austin Dillon" above the door...

Love that #3. If I had a black one I might have put a 3 on it some how.

Cruise is still on but it might be re-routed if the roads are still wet up there.

Charlotte was great 75 and sunny just about everyday. We didn't realize there was a hurricane nearby until someone from TN called us Monday. Lots of sweet old rides, can't wait to get the 69 up to speed so we can put it on the auto cross.

Not sure who Anna Owen is, but she's got a sweet ride. I don't think I could ever do that to my car but I have to admit it looked pretty cool.

I am pretty sure somewhere in my owners manual it says "dont get it wet".

I am showing sunny 50's and 60's the rest of the week and 70 and sunny for Saturday. So hopefully it will work out, that is a beautiful ride.

Skyway

There could be water on the roads from the melt down above 3000'. Water, salt and cars don't mix well.

Got a backup plan! 411 to 68 to the visitors center in Tellico Plains. Leave the Visitors Ctr and go up to Indian Boundry Lake. Go back down the Skyway and on to hwy 360 (Citico Creek) and travel back to 411. Go from 411 to Hwy 72 around Tellico Lake and get on 129 to the Foothills Parkway.

Anyway we go, it will be a blast!

Look out Tellico, here we come!!!
