no its really only for shifts.. it feels a little better, but not like a night and day difference. I did not mess with any shift pressures at all. But burn outs, no doesn't make it do one.. lol
I actually haven't tried, but I think it would just spin like 1 time... hahaa

Turning off or reducing Torque Management will allow for more power to go to the rear wheels, especially on shifts (like 1-2, 3-4, etc, shifts). Torque managment pulls power on the shifts to reduce wear and tear on the transmission. I've seen automatic GTO's drop .2 -.3 tenths in a 1/4 mile by having the car tuned and turning off the Torque Managment. Torque Managment and Traction Control are two different things, but without TM you can get yourself in trouble if your not careful. Why? Because the shifts are so hard and crisp, you can get out of shape really easy if the roads are wet or even in cold dry weather. And also be careful what you wish for. I had the same issues with my stock A4 GTO. It would not break the tires loose at all when it was new. The stock tuning + new sticky tires+ warm weather = great traction off the line. Which is actually a good thing at the track or on the street. Spinning = not winning a race. But after getting a few bolt ons (long tube headers, high flow cats, catback, intake, and a tune -no torque management) I couldn't get any traction at all at the track in cooler weather. All I would do is spin my tires. It was ridiculous. So having traction leaving the line is a good thing and you will wish you still have it, once your car gets a little modded and tuned. Then you'll be shopping for drag radials to keep from spinning. |

It does seem a little low, but
Automatic GTOs (also rated at 400hp) usually dyno around 310 - 330 rwhp range. The M6 (6 speed stick) GTO's usually dyno around 330 - 350 rwhp (on average). These are just averages. Some guys dyno higher, and some dyno lower. I've seen Automatic 05/06 GTO's dyno as low as 300 rwhp. But the guys 05 GTO that dynoed 300 rwhp ran 13.3 @ 106 mph at the track. So dyno numbers can be deceiving, especially when dealing with automatics. |
