Sounds like that dealer needs some education for their service advisors. First thing my dealer does when I ask about a noise is look up the TSBs.

My 2012 SS/RS was making a similar noise at under 500 miles on the odometer. They had to change a gasket and some other stuff in the rear end. All was covered under warrenty. No money came out of my pocket. I too have noticed that my breaks sqeak often....they usually don't the first day or two after I wash the car.

Its this TSB

PI0137C

Real Axle Chatter Type Noise on Low Speed Turns :

10-12 Camaros with Limited-Slip Differential (RPO G80)
Replace both rear axle shaft seals, drain/refill the differential with new fluid, GM P/N 88862624

Exact same issue.
Dealer did the exact above stated.
Problem has never come back after 2000 miles.

Brake issue......everyone is correct. Switch pads.

Mine squeak too and lots of dust. I have a friend how did swap the OEM pads for Hawks and swears by them as well. Its on the list when I wear these out and with all that dust, it looks like it will be soon.

I changed out the rear diff fluid at 1000 miles to get rid of the breakin junk and have had no issues. That additive is called Friction Modifier.

This reminds me of the time my father-in-law was having issues with his Avalanche's brakes squeaking.... the tech told him the same thing yours told you.... "sir, they are suppose to squeak, that is normal..blah blah blah..." well, time goes by..... he had the brake pads replaced because it was that time.... well, he left the dealership and noticed the brakes were not squeaking.... He turned around and drove back to the dealership and said, "something is wrong... you've been tellling me for years my brakes are suppose to squeak. These don't squeak. You must have installed them wrong." I would have paid a month's salary to see the look on that guys face.

True story...
Crazy thing is that you get a different story sometimes from different techs...thanks for sharing funny story!!
