Lio, as said the shifter is short. Have you ever driven a hurst shifter? If not, try it. I personally dont like it at all and my brother has it in his mustang too. If hurst came standard I wouldnt buy the car. I did get a chance to test a zl1 and can tell you that shifter is light years better than a hurst.

By the way very classy picture indicating the no buttons on the rear view.... Lol.

How will you describe the difference between the burst and the ZL1 shifter ?

lol...we're in just about the same boat. I'll be ordering mine about the same time and am also having a hard time with colors. I thought the Kinetic Blue made it an easy choice, but so much for being able to get it on a 1LE. I'm down to IOM, Victory Red, and black.

The IOM pics above reassured me of how good it'll look with the package.

Go black all the way. Black cars get swirls on the hood mainly but with the wrap.you can just replace it after a few years for pretty cheap and it will look brand new.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

After driving my 1LE all weekend, and having driven my buddy's 2012 ss w/ hurst - I like the feel and throw of the ZL1 shift better.

To me, it seems, the ZL1 shifter that's in the 1LEs, almost "turns" towards as you shift up and away from the driver's seat [as you move up from 3-4-5-6]; this slight movement keeps the shifter seated well in your hand.

The hurst is clunky as it shifts, whereas this one flows effortlessly into each position. It's also clunky in your hand; again, the ZL1 seems to magically fit your hand, no issue.

To me, it's not comparsion - the ZL1 shifter is the right choice for any car, really.

Thanks for the review on the shifter, it sounds great! What color is your 1LE? Any pics?

So here is the thing with shifters. If a shifter is shorter, that means you need more force to put it into gear since the transmission is not changing, just the shifter linkage is.

Hence, the Hurst shifter being VERY short, to the point where shifting in my opinion is not fun anymore, the force is also VERY high. To me it feels like the shifter is stuck every gear. The throw is so short too that you don't have much of a feel what gear you are in.

This might be what some people like but just my opinion, I wouldn't buy the car just because of that shifter, it is that bad in my opinion. I hate driving my brothers mustang GT with it to the point where an automatic would be better.

Mgizzle and fzm84 Thanks for the reviews on the comparisson on shifters.... Just what I was expecting.... I just got a bit scared when I crossed me mind that perhaps the 1LE did not come with a sort of short shifter
