Advice on my SC set up.
Im looking to put a SC on my SS and im shooting for (hopefully atleast) 600 rwhp. My mods already are LS3 Conversion with a 231/236 113 cam, LT headers catback and 3600 stall converter. im sitting at around 415-430 rwhp depends on what dyno im on.
Im not 100 % sure on what SC i want , right now im leaning towards a whipple package and then get a ZL1 fuel pump. How difficult do you think it would be for me to reach 600 rwhp? thanks in advance for any and all advice! im open to any suggestions! oh yeah trying to keep the cost under 9k! |

A Maggie will do what you want for less money and an easier install. If you want a lot more than 600 than the whipped will make it easier to get there.

I have put on a lot of s/c kits on the camaro.. The best kit out there is the whipple kit... The inner cooler's line and parts are really nice.. The install is a very nice looking and it makes good power..
My 2ed chose would be the maggie. What i do not like is how the inner cooler pump is mounted in the car.. On the whipple the pump is behind the bumper and on the maggie is drilled onto the frame rail on the passager side. dose not look good.. Kenny Bell would be my last.. The make way to much head and you loose power when the air charge gets to hot.. hope this helps you out.. |

I just put a whipple on mine a month ago. Mine is around 560 to 580 rwhp. I got everthing from JRE and he also tuned it. It really runs great. Here is my build thread.

Everyone jumps on the PD blowers.
The centris make great power. I'm near 600 rwhp with the standard vortech V3 kit and headers. Plus my intercooler keeps my IATs low and safe.

I 2nt the Vortech V3. The kit has the 66lb injecters to go to 600rwhp whipple are 63lb and maggie are 52lb injectors the Vortech Intercooler can go way over 600 with no pumps to go bad and also comes with a 10-rib drive belt set up.
Get a V3 Complete kit a 3.33 pulley with a K&N filter and you will be over 600 HP. In the future the V3 Brackets will also fit a V7. JRE set me up like this. You will come in around $6650 with a 3 bar map (zr1). Install of the supercharger is very easy do it yourself. That leaves plenty for the ZL1 fuel pump/ Gauges etc. You may need to budget tires lol. |
