I screwed up big time. I heard the Hertz hsk 165 high energy help me..

I went to hear some JL C3-650's and C5 650's this morning. then the guy wanted to show me something. Yep a set of Hertz 165 hsk. He said 650. I almost cried. I have 309.00 right now to buy the Amazon C5 Jl speakers, but now I want the hertz. Oww I think the C3 sounded great and would buy them in a min. The set up for the C5's was kinda wierd. They did not like base very much compared to the C3's and they kinda sounded distorted or lacking, so he swaped to a JL amp with more power and it fixed some of it but there was something still not right. So I decieded on C3's over the polk MM 651 6x9's I have and I dont even want to hear the polk mm 6501's now. I want hertz. So were can I get Real ones for the best price???????

get on their (hertz) website and use the dealer locator. I went and heard hertz's in a local shop and my ears could not distinquish differences between the c5's and the hertz high energys 165'S?? but note that I was not able to bounce back and forth between the two because they were located in two different shops. Don't know where you are but hayes sight and sound in hutchison ks is a dealer

my apologies and mods please delete if there are HERTZ dealers who are sponsors.. My apologies in advance if I am violating any board policies.

Memphis tn. If your saying the C5's and hertz are the same, as far as sound goes then cool. But the hertz do handel way more power, so the specks say. One of my concerns in having to take everything back apart to swap a blown speaker. I am so scared of that. I have a JL slash 300/4 v2 running my highs at 75 watts RMS. I think I am eather change it to a 450/4 amp and run a 500/1 jl or get a 900/5 at income tax. This should give the distortion some head room. Being that I will be pumping 125 to 175 RMS to the fronts and 75 to the rears I so dont want to pop a speaker.

My hearing is not the best..... I' ve been in the aerospace industry for 25 years and my hearing is by no means perfect. It was a money thing for me as the jls were cheaper and if I was buying both at the same price I would probably have gone with the hertz.. both speakers are great .. the hertz probably a bit better but it all comes down to what sounds good to you. Let me know how it all comes together..

Dont even waste your money on that thing. Get an MS-8 or an Audio Control piece or something better than the clean sweep.

vtxretro02 yea its still a money thing with me too. christmas is almost here so I need to decide soon and make the purchase to finish things up for a wile. The JL c3 are only 261 vs 450 for the hertz. the hert were amazing but the jl are too so I can always put the jl in the back and a set of heartz up front. That is if I want to. Thanks everyone for the great info. I also think i should check out some other high end stuff before i drop 500 for some fronts, never heard focal or the other that was mentioned on here.

For that price, I'd listen to a set of focal polyglass set and a Hybrid Audio set if you can. Hertz, Focal, and Hybrid might be the best there are for those prices. I'm guessing you listened to a set of Hertz HSK so I'd listen to:

Focal 165 V30
Hybrid Audio Technology Clarus
