Are lowering springs worth it?

I am thinking about asking for some 1.2" lowering springs for christmas and I am wondering what yalls opinion are on them? Are they worth it? I have talked to a few people who have them and they love them! But I just want to get a few more opinions. Are they worth it, do they make a big difference, pros and cons? Thanks!

It might not sound like much but 1.2" definitely makes a difference! It looks MUCH better and gives better control (or the illusion of control) around turns. You also lose that unsightly wheel well gap. The downside would be having to pay more attention to speed bumps and steep driveways. It also makes it a little more difficult when you need to get a jack under the car (you'd either need a low profile jack or drive the front wheel on some blocks to give you the space for the jack).

Overall, I'd definitely do it over again!!!

LoneStarCamaro covered it pretty well. Lowering springs seem to make these cars look soooo much sexier and really give it a more sports car like feel. Below are some before and after shots of one of our customers car on 1.25 inch Pfadt springs.

They are worth it, just make sure you get a good alignment and time the bushings to get the best ride possible. Like the others said it looks way better without the wheel gap but you do have to be careful.

110% worth it!!! I went Pfadt and could not be any happier, and I was nervous to pull the trigger bc this is my family fun car and didn't want the wife and kids to hate it afterwards, but they LOVE it now!

Thanks for the information! I was already leaning towards getting them, but y'all for sure made up my mind! I'll probably be getting them in the next month or so! Thanks for the help!

Lowering springs are definitely a mod worth doing. They will not only give you considerable amount of additional handling performance but they will also close the wheel gap quite a bit giving the car a much more aggressive stance. Here are a couple of picture of Camaros with our V6 specific lowering springs (BK052).

I've considered 1" lowering springs to get the car down just a bit in order to fill the wheel openings using the stock tire sizes. This may be a dumb question, but can you use a 1" lowering spring and get the alignment adjusted so the front tires aren't "leaning in" at all? That's the first thing I notice on lowered cars and it looks bad to me.

With a proper fitment and alignment they will not lean in. The ricers do that crap intentionally. Don't pay any attention to them, they are damaged children.

You can definitely use 1" lowering springs without having a bunch of negative camber which is tire lean you are talking about. That additional lean inward (negative camber) helps provide additional handling performance but also wears the inside of the tire down much faster. Just make sure you take the car to a reputable alignment shop once the lowering springs have been installed and let them know what you are looking for and they should have no problem helping you out.

They're definitely worth it!

Check out our LSR springs, they offer an approximate 1" (F) and 1.25" (R) drop which essentially levels the car. They are made in the USA and feature a lifetime warranty. They also have a great ride quality and will improve handling. And they're on sale!

You can check out our thread on these here (where folks posted reviews as well as photos with their drop): http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238654

I can't mention price as per forum rules but shoot me a PM, I'd be glad to help!

I have the PFADT springs and love me. I did it more for cosmetics but there's some driving differences too.
