It's just one dyno run. Not nearly enough to determine whether it's underrated or not.

The SAE Certification process does not allow "underrating" or overrating.

So now we actually have real numbers, and before we even start with a supercharged Maro, this post is just to get the CORRECT info our there so people who care can do the math.

Discuss.

Again? I thought all of the GT500's have been SAE certified? You can't underrate or overrate a SAE certified engine.

One dyno run is not enough to draw conclusions from, just like we don't assume the 384 rwhp runs are correct just because a couple of people got them for the SS.

I'd wait for more then one source before getting all giddy, even though it's obvious you're more interested in having a Mustang best the Camaro.

At any rate that's a whole lot of car for the price. Also keep in mind the suspension upgrades as well as the newer interior on this model.
I agree with the 490-500 range. Folks have dynoed as high as 500+ HP on the lowly 2009 GT500 with just a tune and intake (up from ~445rwhp stock), which is basically the 2010 mill.

Damn that's Stout!

Now if they will hurry with that 5L in the GT we really will have a fight on our hands.

Sigh* has nothing to do with a Camaro vs Ford or anything. Its just a article by Edmunds who has actually DYNO a 2010 GT500. That's it. I have not seen anyone else do a actual dyno run, we were just going by ford numbers.

Some of you always seem to think someone trying to shoot down a camaro. Nope. Read what I first put..before I knew there was another thread here...I said discuss, so people who like to know this info could...

So exactly where is this hidden agenda at ?

Not when you go to sell them they sure won't be...

I've learned that lesson the hard way. In general, dollars put into mods are worth approximately nothing when it comes time to sell. But if you keep it for life, it doesn't matter.

I know we all also like to personalize our cars to make them something that can't just be bought at the dealership, too -- so it's not always about $ in / $ out.

Regardless -- some very impressive numbers from the GT500. Can't buy that sort of power fully engineered and warrantied from any other manufacturer for less money.

Are you kidding me? Why'd you even mention the Camaro in your post then? I have NO problem with appreciating all three of the cars, it's just frustrating when people try and pretend they're objective and are clearly biased to one side (yes, it's annoying when it's from both sides, check my posts, I praise all three of the cars).

EDIT: I'm not attacking you or anything, it's just irritating to see from any side.

As for Ford's numbers, I'd still go by them if the engine is SAE certified; if it wasn't then anything goes!

Also, there's no comparing the SS to the GT500, it whips the Camaro's ass.
