This is really simple or really hard depending on your wiring knowledge.

There is an input on the pioneer for a camera so basically you just need to wire the leads from yor current camera to that input.

you can wire the pioneer so it is not connected to the reverse lead and doesn't go black since you already have the backup camera in the mirror.

Or you could also run a second camera so you don't cut the factory wiring.

I have a touchscreen pioneer too. My guy had to splice the stock camera into the aftermarket input, no troubles. They just didn't hook yours up.

Why would you have to cut? Couldn't you just tap into it so the nav and mirror have the camera?

I have a pioneer avic z1 head unit in the setting there is a setting to turn it on also there is a setting to be grounded or not check those setting first

If when he shift to reverse and the screen goes black is because he has it connected to the reverse input on the HU , but there is no signal coming in .
Otherwise the head unit would not recognize the reverse position on the gearbox/shifter , and that's way i think that he is missing the IN SIGNAL wire to the HU .

I tried both, the big screen is easier to see then on the mirror. It is just too small in the mirror.

Did you connect the violet and white wire the the reverse light
If you didn't it won't work
