I won't be happy till Jan. 13th. Judging by that half second blur the rear end looks to close to the renderings we've seen.

I just hope you pay siginifigantly more for the C-7, and the Z28 shows up first.

Now that we've seen the front clip (in stickers) tail lights (more stickers) I am very under whelmed by the SS.

Now simply having a V8 sedan will be pretty awesome. One of my favorite CTF cars Mrs. Number 3 and I ever had between us was her GXP. But she turned that in to get her Camaro SS CTF which certainly was not a bad thing.

El Presidente's comments on the car are encouraging. But those are words.

So what does it need to be "as good as" to be a success. For some of us just a V8 is enough. I don't believe it is fair to say it's a 5 Series competitor or a E500 competitor. I don't think it can be that good (but I am willing to be wrong). Ford certainly has nothing to compete with it other than the SHO and I'm pretty sure that won't be in the ball park so that's not a fair comparison.

The only domestically made car it might compete with is from Chrysler and Chrysler is no different that Honda or Nissan or Hyundai now being unless you consider being an Italian company somehow better.

So if it is as good a 300 SRT8 will that suffice? Or does it need to be more special than that?

Yes the SHO is a let down. If it does compare well with Chrysler's sedan that i would consider a win.

I am reserving judgement until I see the actual SS..... something about the NASCAR liveries makes the design seem "off".

The stickers on the front makes it looks flat... lacks dimension. Toy like even.

.

I think it looks pretty good, just a bit too "European-ish" for my taste.

It's a very niche car, isn't it...

I tend to think like 2cnd chance, and that if the car compares well favorably with the Charger/300C, than they've done well. It's a RWD sedan for the sake of having one...gutsy move on the part of GM, and I'm happy to see them making it!!!

I'll tell ya' one thing - if I had a family and needed an Impala/Malibu, etc....I'd get a Chevy SS instead...hands-down. Hope it does well.

So will this be a Chevorlet "Chevrolet SS" or just SS? We have the makings of an Abbot and Costello routine me thinks.

Judging by the Nascar it looks on par with the G8 as far as appearances go to me. A little less agressive but not as pedestrian as an Impala or Malibu. It's hard to differentiate a sedan these days because there is so much competition and most do a decent job at putting out a decent looking car.

Which SS?

Chevrolet's SS?

I think I need to correct what I said earlier. I just read a nice article about how they're taking this car way up-market, and its intentionally not being built for the masses...it's only purpose in life is to correspond to the racing aspect, and serve as a "Halo" RWD sedan for Chevrolet...as such, it'll likely be very expensive...and I wouldn't buy one, like I said earlier...

But on the flip side, this makes it much easier to be measured as a "success"...if it's expensive, then they'll have to sell many less than the Charger to make a sound business case for Chevy to keep it alive.
