No, flame wars start when you start name calling. Obviously from other posts I've seen from you, you seem to have a need to constantly defend your choice of having a V6. Get over it already and move on.

Yes Mother.....

For your information I was NOT defending my choice for a V6 in these posts, I was defending whether or not if I was telling the truth about my gas mileage, there was NOTHING in there about owning a V6, please show me where I am defending my choice of V6 ownership, It looks more like YOU are trying to stir the pot a bit. just my observation.

and another thing- when you call on what someone is saying then you are basically calling them a liar, that in itself is a form of name calling, if you want to get technical....

Dude! dont say you are getting 32MPGs! you are gonna get flamed!
Dont say I didnt warn you!

Seriously though, you are not the only other person other than me that can sqeeze 32 MPGs out of your V6 I have seen others acomplish it as well....good job.
I will get guaranteed over 31 MPGs of my long hauls that I do twice a week on average, I have a few tricks that I apply to get there but it can be done.

Disclaimer-The comments above are in no way a means to defend the ownership of a V6, they are not intended to start a V6 vs a V8 flame war resulting in the shutting down of this thread, I apologize ahead of time to sensitive ears of certain sensitive SS owners........

Remember this? Don't get so butt sore.

I too am getting awesome fuel mileage, Why? 'cause I drive it without stomping on the gas pedal all the time, Ya once in a while I will have fun and get on it and open her up, but I no longer drive like I did as a teenager and just mashing the gas all the time(all that did was cost me in fuel/parts/and tickets) I outgrew the whole speed thing, I know what this car can do, I dont need to prove it all the time.

I drive an average of 2500 miles a month and that is where fuel saving come in, I do want to save gas, I could have bought a "gas saver" but for what? the chance to drive around in something boring and bland? just to save maybe 5 gallons more that what my current Camaro is doing? pshhhh

I could give a rats arse what others think in here whether or not it is BS that I am gettin 30+ MPGs in my car, but what I DO care about is knowing I need to stop close to around half as many times for fuel compared to an SS. Ya you can say "keep telling yourself that", but I really DONT have to tell myself that because the cheaper fuel cost alone reinforces that for me.

Dont get me wrong though, I would love to have an SS, but with the way things are in my life there is no way I could afford one, I would end up just driving it on the weekends, and THAT idea just seems retarded to me.

For those that DO get 30+ MPGs, I believe you and I am sure others that do own a V6 believe you too, dont let these pompous SS folks get you down, after all they too are looking for reasons to justify their purchase just like you do for your V6.

When I am driving for my job I ALWAYS get 30 MPGs, but when I am driving for personal reason then I will drive it more spirited and even then I rarely ever get it below 25 MPGs, I have yet to see an SS get that well of fuel savings, and I personally know some that own SSs that can vouch for that.

We are all part of a Camaro family and I dont hate on anyone, but it seems like whenever someone trades "up" for an SS a whole new thread is started sayin things like "Hey look at me! I got an SS and so now I am hating on the V6" and expecting a pat on the back for it. These type of folks seem to start a shyt storm like every other thread like it before.

However I have seen a few times where someone traded up and basically stated that they got an SS, and you would really have to read into the thread to see if they previously had a V6, These folks I like! There is a tactful way of posting things like this, some folks get it.........some just dont

I apologize for the rant Now......let the flaming begin

Ya I remember that, but what does it have to do with THIS thread?

Like I said in the last post nowhere in this thread have I been defending my reason to have the V6, you still have yet to show me where I was doing that in THIS thread.........cant you read?

Talk about but sore, your are the one who insists of throwing crap in my face that has nothing to do with this thread, just let it go and I will too.

Na I dont feel you disrespected me in any way and I appreciate your concern, and I apologize for any disrespect towards you.
Your right, I am sure I would play hell trying to get more than 25 MPGs in the city, I consider city is an area where there is any stop and go traffic, and when you live out in the sticks like I do, then you can understand why I say I get 26 in the "city", in actuality I get 26 MPGs in the stop and go traffic that I go through out here, in Athens GA I dont get the greatest mileage, so I gotta give you credit for towards that.
I DO however get over 30 MPGs on my biweekly 184 roundtrip trips to South Carolina, and yes I have a few tricks up my sleeves to achieve that good of fuel savings, when I drive the long mileage I am as easy on the car as I possibly can be because I really don't want to wear the car out just driving for my job, the great fuel savings is basically a benefit of being that way.
Now- when I am around my local area driving for personal reasons I DO have some fun and open it up and play, and no I don't get the greatest MPGs when I am doing that.
I gain nothing by telling folks in here that I get 32 MPGs, so why would I lie about it? there is no personal gain from that.
I would love to have an SS but it is not in my game plan, if I was to be given one I would most likely trade it for a V6 Camaro, ya I would love to drive an SS but it would just get me in trouble.
So for those of you who say I am always defending the ownership of the V6? well.....whatever, that's your opinion.
I'm not gonna hate on anyone who owns a Camaro.

After I wrote that I went and filled up and drove 30 miles all city and was able to get 22 MPG. and I was driving in a popular spot for friday night, plenty of traffic.

But yeah, I also don't see the point on calling BS on sombody. You could simply ask how they do it. In July in Texas when its about 115 degrees I get close to 20 if I behave, so I know it can be done.

I actually one time started a thread on how to save gas(its somewhere around here) but that too ended up a flaming thread with others calling BS, I only started the thread to help others out in here, because believe it or not there really are folks who buy these cars to save some gas, and there are others as well that actually want to save gas fully knowing that their car may suck gas.
I tell you what-if I was not able to squeeze around 30 MPGs out of this car, there is not a snowballs chance in hell I would be driving one right now. That was the deal I made with my wife because of all the miles I drive in it, I put 27000 miles on it the first year, these fuels savings have really factored in towards some serious savings.
I can ride with just about anyone and within twenty minutes I can pinpoint the major contributing factors of their crappy fuel mileage......rarely it is the cars fault.

Oh wait! Heres the thread I started- 33MPGs!.....I'm not BSing you!

2010 V6 Auto Only Mods are K&N Intake and Trifecta Tune with 93 octane and reading 58900. I drive 100 miles total to work each day (All highway). Going to work I average 34.6-35mpg Best I have ever pulled was 35.9mpg. I believe I could get back to that if my tires were not down to the wear markers. Now in city driving I average 22.6. BUT if I'm feeling adventurous she goes down to 18mpg.... LOL.
