Steve, as we indicated in our PM conversation there is nothing about our Pfadt springs that made your shocks wear out. Your springs are functioning the same they were when you first installed them and enjoyed your ride quality for the first year or so. Please do not confuse shocks failing with any problems with our springs.

I did mine with my dad so it was free. But if you're gonna pay that much for install ya might as well save the little more and get coilovers. The install took a few hours but wasn't overly difficult.

From my Camaro covered iPhone.

I am looking at pictures to compare other lowering springs to see how they sit. My shocks are done was it just time or lowering springs did it? Who knows and im not blaming you but think its bs when you see the picture of my springs laying on top of each other and say thats normal. To me springs laying on top of each other isnt right, zero space in between coils

Depends on how much the springs are. Install and alignment would or should be $400-500 depending on labor rate. Some springs are $200 and some are as high as $350. Is that number really that far off? And I said if you were close to $850 you might as well get coilovers

Here's a pic of my Hotchkis springs newly installed. Coils near but not resting on each other, even progressively spaced.

Just to compare designs/any problem areas. May help, may mean nothing

Steve, regardless of your opinion, this is how springs of the OEM style are engineered, there will be a certain amount of "dead length" coils that only function to achieve a tight install on a uncompressed shock. I am sorry you disagree with the engineering. But that is how they looked when you installed them and reported great ride quality.

That simply means Hotchkis has chosen to increase the spring rate over stock, and increase the harshness of the ride as a result. In addition, their winding is using a decreasing diameter sooner than ours and therefore has to have a higher rate to it. That is their decision and was done for a reason. We chose to not increase the spring rate but a small bit over factory to keep ride quality about the same.

Cool. So two different designs. But Bajamoon said ALL coils were resting on eachother, so guess thtas the design. AS to rates Thought all were increased over stock though. The rate advertised is only 210 on the front for Hotchkis. thought yours was 225 but no matter. I have no harshness. Ride is good and equal or better then stock alot of the time(more stable) with the usual firmness and reactions as all lower springs have. I was pleasantly surprised.

You seem to be missing the part of the picture that shows the coils above and underneath the three coils in focus, as not touching each other.

Ride quality is always subjective. I am glad you do not see your ride as being harsh at all. We agree that is how lowering springs should be.

Here is a picture of your Hotchkis springs. As you can see on the rears, they are designed to rest on each other indicated by the rubber isolator installed in the picture. So, same design as Pfadt fronts. Hotchkis makes good products and not everyone will do things identically.
