I too had a iX... Hence the name D3VO... Real name is Devin but my friends call me DEVO. Best car I have ever owned next to my SS. They are very reliable and trustworthy cars if you know how to drive them. As far as bad clutches.. Driver error.. Most kids will launch all day at 6500rpm and then wonder why an axle or dt shattered. Flip side, premium only however stock, you'll get better gas mileage. I have to say, I debated on getting a X... Not as quick as previous generations and they are made in my opinion...cheaper all the way around. Sounds like you have good pricing and it's basically up to preference. Good luck and if you do get one, I'm sure you'll like it.

@OP If you can get a EVO for under $300 per month, what are you waiting for? I wouldn't mod it or beat it up unless you are planning on keeping it at the end of the 24 months.

@DEVO. , I'm sure you miss your EVO ix

But yes, Camaro SS is definitely quicker..

Dude you are way off on everything you have said on this thread. I owned an Evo before my Camaro and it was a great car in every aspect. I was a little confused at where you were coming up with this information with all the "my friend's car does this, and his car sucks at this, and it blew this and that" until I realized you are a Subaru owner. In every single Car and Driver, Top Gear, and pretty much any non-bias review the edge always went to the Evo over the STI. In all the years I owned mine I never had any problems nor did I know anyone in my Evo Club to have any, they were bulletproof. I owned my Evo for almost 5 years, had 400 hp to all 4 wheels running on stock tranny and never had one problem. I think maybe your "friend" might not know how to drive his car. Not that STI are bad cars or anything, cause they are not, its just Evo were always a hair better. I mean come on, who puts the intercooler on top of the engine? Subaru thats who. Your just throwing out bullsh*t stats about how Evo owners switch and that they are failing. The fact is there are a lot less Evo and STi on the roads these days because of the economy and what not. They are a pretty pricey rice burner / kids car. Thats the facts. Now sell your Camaro and go back to your STi forums please.
With all that being said my 400 awhp Evo was way faster and handled way better than my 500 rwhp Camaro. Not digging on my Camaro because I love it so much more but I am trying to get my Camaro's performance level up to my Evo. I say lease it just don't mod it, no need. It would be an awesome DD substitute as is.

sounds like you confusing handling for grip Evo will out grip Camaro in low traction conditions but for having Higher limits err I have to see it to believe It..

like my 4th gen feels like it handles better but it really doesn't

I'm not confusing it. Stock a STi or Evo out grips and handles a stock camaro hands down no matter what pavement condition. The STi and Evo are track/rally ready almost out of the box. Not to mention faster 0-60 times by 1 sec. Camaro SS fastest Nring time is 8:20 and Evo is 7:57 and as much I hate it but for the sake of being non-bias the STi has a time of 7:55. Just the facts.

Huh the Camaro has the faster 0-60 time at least what I just looked off of 4.6 (SS) to 4.8-5.2 depending on year for the Evo and sti

The 7:57 and 7:55 are not stock
The EVO ix stock ran 8:11
Never seen any stock times for the EVO X

Where does it say it wasn't stock. But either way the "stock evo ix" time which is an older vehical is still faster.

I don't know where your getting your times from but it's not hard to understand why a lighter, turbo charged all wheel drive cars 0-60 time is faster. I could get online and find five different reviews and five more different videos that all list different times for both cars but even still I don't believe for a second that any 5th Gen SS stock does 4.6. I have owned both and I'm telling you my Evo VIII stock was faster 0 to 60 than my 2012 SS was stock and in addition it matched a 4th Gen SS up to 160 nose to nose. I don't think the 4th gen was stock because I don't think their governor lets them go 160. Evos are no joke.

They are both good cars 2SS45th but I can't have you dogging the Evos I do think that they are kid cars though. I was pretty young when I bought my 05 brand new and after almost 5 years of owning it I started to feel like I was "that guy" so I decided to let it go. Sold it to some 20 year old for 27k. At the time it was one of the highest re-sell value sedan in the U.S. I am surprise that you kept yours after moving up to that beast of a Camaro you have now. Although I guess it would be nice in the winter for a DD.

Great! You found a track that is pretty much 3 long straight aways and a few curves. Yes I would say that a V8 would take most 2.0's on a track like that. Why don't you go by the Nring like everyone else does? But if it makes you and your 4th Gen feel better then you win. Now go enjoy your Evo killing 4th gen... or you can see how it holds up to my 5th Gen?
