Well said.... In comparison to my '69 GTO, the SS is extremely smooth and easy.

I got the auto because that's what I wanted, simple as that, sames reason the ones that got the stick got what they wanted. As long as "YOU" are happy with what you got that's all that matters. Who cares what it is, just drive it and, enjoy it and be happy doing it. As far as being more or less of a man for the choice, I'm neither, but no complaints so far, in fact just the opposite so I guess I'm doing fine and having a blast.......oh and a blast with the car too....lol.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL ! ! !

PS: I think it might be time for a new subject maybe . . .just a thought.

See How easy it is to just say whatever you want a forum? Doesn't mean it's true!!
My point here is......YOU CAN'T DRIVE...... go take a course or something.... Mr. Stick, I mean Mr. D××k , I meant Mr. Grind......

One more thing I'll out shift ya any day of the week pal... I've owned more stick shifts in one year probably then you have in your life time...

One of each, didn't have a choice with the Z28 since I bought it used and they weren't in production anymore. I've owned 8 Camaros, 4 were stick, 4 were automatic

Look around for this in the Dragstrip, Tracking, Autocrossing, Driving Techniques Discussions forum. I had five pages of hits come up searching just that forum on "speed shift". Ought to be something useful in all that.

I see know difference in driving todays stick than yesterdays. Actually the camaro is more difficult than many because of the pedal coming up so high before hitting the friction point. Some friction points are maybe 2 in. off the floor board the camaro feels more like 5 or 6 inches off the floor board.

Speed shifting is simply mashing the clutch with letting off the gas.

My 86 is an auto, TH350. When I got to buy a 5th gen im going to get an M6. The only thing that swayed me was the engine it's paired with. If it were possible to get an A6/LS3 I might go with that. Either way the tranny matters WAY less than the car it self imo.
