I also just asked the Key Engineer. He is very puzzled how you ended up with a Valet key. There isn't one. So not sure what you got. What does it open? Have you checked?

Per "the man" you get two fob/keys.

I was just tying to mess with people. I totaly forgot I put that.

I just did a quick search for these pics.

lol. Well it worked, ass. The best solutions I've seen is to take apart/break the fob to get the key out or buy a locking gas cap and put the key in there.

I got one key when I purchased the car, and then I got the second key when I went back to pick up my plates like 2 weeks later. They may just be holding on to it till then.

Does the glove box lock? I just can't remember. Usually I always lock them when I take either car in for service. The valet key was nice because it would not open the glove box.

The valet key is for the lock cylinder behind the Chevy bowtie on the trunk.

Can't believe you Camaro experts don't know this.

Had me going..........enough for me to call my buddy who does the keys.

And congratulations on being non-smoker. Tough task. Watched my parents try to quit for years.

I am told the suggested dealer price for a replacement key/fob should be under $55. Assuming your dealer sells at suggested retail.

Also I am told the key/fob is water resistent. My friend, "the keymaster", who does the keys assures me that the specification for the Camaro key/fob makes it VERY robust. There is a submersion test included. So getting the key wet should not present any problems. Keeping it in your pocket while IN the pool may not be ok, but getting it wet at the pool or beach should be a non-issue.

So all you guys worried about high replacment costs and getting the key/fob wet should not worry.
