Gotta be SMART about it. If anyone gets stopped by a cop to check out the car, lose the attitude and be nice, most of all, keep the convo going and make a FRIEND!! You never know when that FRIENDS name might come in handy...

Reminds me of a time I stopped a 17yr old kid for going 115 in a 50. I felt bad and I knew if I wrote him for 115 his license would have been gone for a year. I wrote him for 69 in a 50 so he would have no problems. the prick fought the 69 ticket in court, LOL.

In NY, the radar reading only verifies the visual estimation so when I testified to the 115 the judge took his licence for 3yrs. Moral of the story, just be nice, you get more with honey than vinegar. so, take the time to make a friend, ya never know...

I guess I better look out. I'm also in S.W. Florida. Today, I saw several cop cars, but they were all going the opposite way or across the intersection from me.

Besides the usual stuff (guys checking out my car at parking lots and gas stations, I was flagged down by an older guy (that drives an 08 Vette), and he asked me a bunch of questions about my car.

I would be so flattered...I actually gave a cop a ride in my Camaro a few days ago, in civilian clothes, of course, since he didn't wanna scratch or rip the leather seats with his gun belt...

We actually met during a very trying time for my family last yr and he and his partner are so awesome, we are actually friends and like "family" now...we keep in touch all the time...

They got us through one of the most difficult times in my life last yr and it had a very positive outcome for us...

They were actually the first two people to come over and see my car the day after I got home from picking it up in Virginia and driving it home to NY!!!....they came over in their police cruisers, so that gave the neighbors something to talk about...

"Cops are people too", give them a break, they put their lives on the line every day to protect us and for that I give them a HUGE THUMBS UP!!

I also salute all the firefighters out there too!!!......my Dad was a Volunteer Fireman for 60 YEARS! for our local fire dept. before he passed away last year...

Just sorry my Dad didn't live long enough to see and ride in the Camaro, but I'm sure he and my Mom were in the backseat for the ride home from VA to NY, about 300+ miles...

I've had a few cops pull up next to me at a light and roll down their windows to talk to me about the car but I've never had one actually pull me over. Hehehe I wouldn't let it bother you.. You know by now the attention this car brings and I'm hoping that if im nice to every cop that shows interest..eventually it's going to pay off for me. All the cops will know me as this nice chick that drives that cool camaro :

I was getting out at walmart and noticed a cruiser pulling up behind me. I was afraid he saw me getting on it before I pulled in. Heck had just had car forbought 4hours. Only had 70 miles on it. Was thinking that's great 1st ticket and not even 100 miles on it. & they roles window down and him & partner said nice car! They wantedto know what color it was. I got IOM they said they loved car but really loved the color and how it changed depending on how the lights hit it!

I look at it this way:

Police officers are there to protect me and to maintain peace and a comfortable (...not worrying about snipers in the bushes...) lifestyle for us.

We do not pay them that much money.

They take an awful lot of BS from the public.

They are under incredible stress. (would YOU want to walk up to a car in the dark not knowing who or what is inside?)

Sooooo......a police officer loves my Camaro?

I'm only too happy to let him or her look at my Camaro --

Remember: What goes around, comes around.

Life would be better for everyone if we only remembered the "Golden Rule".....

I've got no problem with someone wanting to check out the car. But PULLING SOMEONE OVER to do it is just plain wrong. They could easily pull up next to you and ask to pull over and 9 times out of 10 I'd oblige and share the awesomeness with them. But I'd rather not go through the process of crapping myself and getting pissed off (at myself) for getting pulled over and then have them say "oh you weren't doing anything wrong I just wanted to see your car". I don't live in a small town so it's not like knowing one beat cop would help anything. Besides, my dad already knows most of the "top" cops in the state (and yes, it came in handy once before). I just don't take kindly to abusing one's power.

It's true they could get in trouble. But really only if the person said they where busy and no time for it and drove off. If at that point they did something then it would be a big deal IMO*.

Haven't we had enough of this soap box? The last thread about this got shut down cause of your douchebagginess.

It never hurts to make a friend...period!

I for one would not stop someone just to look at their car as I do not want that liability. I just hunt the thugs and arrest as many as I can.

I would have thought that was awesome. I invite any cop to pull me over to check out the Camaro. They are human like us.
Though I rather they pull me over not on the way to work if I'm running late.

I'd take it as a compliment, unless I was late for something really important. But 99% of the time, I'd be flattered.

I am in Law Enforcement (Corrections)and can tell you what happened after his shift when he went out for a beer with his fellow coppers. The conversation went like this

Officer A: I was driving down _____ street and saw a guy in a new Camaro. I lit him up pulled him over and talked with him for awhile. Asked him a crap load of questions about the car he took the time to explain things about the car.

Officer B: Oh man I have yet to see a new camaro. Was it nice.

Officer A: Oh $%^& ya it was beautiful... it was (color) looked cooler in real life than in pictures. He was good guy let me take a look at the car everything. You will probably see him his name is _____ and he's a pretty decent guy.

You now have a bunch of different cops keeping an eye out for the Camaro because its a nice car. Expect you will probably get a few waves maybe even some questions from the other cops in your town.

In Canada cops have the power to pull you over just to see if you have a drivers license.

Is it right he used sirens to pull you over.. maybe not. Could he have pulled you over for another reason and turned it into a Nice car stop.. who knows.

Bottom line is you now have a cop who knows u and met u under good circumstances. That could translate into a break somewhere along the line. Also if you ever get into a problem and need a question answered he will remember you and will give you the time of day
