CCS my favorite thing about my Camaro is everything. It is a total package. Only thing I don't like is the weight. Like me it is overwieght.

Maybe it should replace the current ZO6 perhaps in terms of power.

My, the times we live in....

When 450hp isn't enough for a BASE-model Corvette.

Don't forget, the magic of this engine isn't its peak numbers...it's the power/tq curves. This engine mimicks the LS7 from the Z06 up until 4000 rpms. But it's more fuel economical than even the LS3 is.

Ok here's my imaginary line up:

Base Stingray -450HP (maybe 480 would have sounded better)
Stingray ZO6 - 580HP
Stingray ZR1 - 700HP (and Motor Trend can say "Buh Bye Viper" Haha)

A 700 horse Vette!!! HoooooHaaaa!

Numbers aren't everything, but they sure look and sound good for Marketing.

First thing that caught my attention with the ZL1 = supercharger and 580HP!

Then you have the I can't see out of the damn thing crowd complaining.
No car is going to be perfect, no car is going to appeal to everyone. Geesh look at even the Camaro lovers hate on a bunch of things about the Camaro still. And when they do something to fix one complaint then you have those that even hate that and want it back the old way.
It always amazes me how many on here think they know better than the people that design and build the cars. My comment to them is go try to design a car that everyone will think is perfect...it can't be done.

Lets face it, V6 engines impact GM's CAFE ratings more since they sell more of them in cars and its to their advantage to have a high HP fuel efficient engine in the base Camaro to fend off the competition. Also, the Vette ususally gets the latest technology first and it trickles down to the Camaro later. The next gen Camaro will likely have the LT1 multi displacement engine as this is probably the future for their GM's V8s. The AFM on the auto SS was necessary to avoid a GG tax and it was still an evolving technology in 2010. The L99 does have better low end torque than the LS3 in the manual SS.

I can roll with that great answer!

If there was such a thing as a perfect car then what would we talk about...how perfect it is? That would be boring. Haha

Looks like I just might have to get rid of one of the Camaro's to make room for the C7 just not sure which one.

I think the 450 number is a bit underrated, with DI added, either that or the 450 torque curve is super flat.

You might be right - they haven't released "official" power numbers yet. When they did that with Camaro, I remember them saying "at least 550 hp"...and out came 580. So when the SAE tests are finished...my money's on a 460hp base engine.

Yeah they emphasized the "At Least" 450 HP.
