You have the same doors as a 1LS

It's a car drive it! The worst case scenario, you start obsessing about dings and scratches and park you car, and come back to find it either badly damaged or totaled. You cannot control destiny. Just my 2 cents.

Purchased in November 2012. Decided to drive to work today had been sitting for 2 weeks 2100 miles today. After 83mph blast going from on ramp to freeway in 3rd gear, that's why it's been sitting.

I would say yes.

I received a gash across the passenger side door...got upset, but I repaired it, and now you can't tell it was ever there unless your face is on the sheet metal. I decided when I signed my name for this much money...I was going to ENJOY it...not constantly worry about the inevitable.

Don't get me wrong, I obsess over the appearance and protection of my car...but I don't let that stop me from enjoying everything it has to offer.

That made me sad! What an uplifting speech!!

"Should I be worried about door dings"

"Door dings? No...you should be worried about finding your car totaled in the morning!"

Totally worth it. As for door dings if they happen I will get them fixed. I park between two poles in the garage at work. It is safer than my garage at home. No chance of a door ding. Heck I have gone to Walmart in it.... more than once. I always park away and walk. The biggest challenge is the lower front splitter. (Parking bumpers are higher for sure... hit one of those and you are going to have a bad day.) If possible I back into spots to ensure I don't hit it. The rear camera is golden.

The car is a great DD. Only concern is tires and mine still look new @ 3K miles.

One thing to note when using as a DD. Play with the PTM modes. In rain and cold days (in FL 40s) I run in PTM Mode 1. It pulls power from the motor and is more aggressive on traction control. The car feels stable and easy to drive. Of course if you drive like an A$$ she will bite you but I have not had any issues.

ZL1 as a DD FTW

Something to try for anyone noticing slick rear tires...PTM 1 reigns that in a good bit. Good comment, I've forgotten to mention that to people!

Us #214 cars must stick together. Glad to know 2012 #214 is running around and not a garage queen. 2013 #214 never sits more than a day.

199 miles.

And before you yell, the last 3 weeks have averaged a temp of about 10 degrees for the day, so I think it's far better to leave it parked for now

Well isn't that funny? #214? Awesome.

Unfortunately 2012 #214 has to live with winter time. So he's sleeping right now...probably won't wake up until mid-march. :(

Feel for you on the winter weather. Had my SS in Indiana....winter she hid. It took me two years to put 5K on the car but I lived in a small town. When I moved back to FL I put 12K on the car in one year. I ENJOYED the car more in one year than those two years combined. When I bought my Z I committed to driving it as much as possible. Glad I don't have to deal with snow and cold.... makes the DD ZL1 much easier.
