The EVO may be fast. I my opinion it is an ugly four door sedan. I know I would never log on to an EVO forum and tell all of the fans to get a real car.

be easy on the guy...so what if he doesn't like the g8...it looks too damn pedestrian anyway and looks like crap...but so does the evo...

gm needs a better sedan because its lacking a real one...unless you count the cadillac cts...but i mean buicks are hideous and the impala needs an exterior makeover and the malibu is nice but still lacking...

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but to come on here and say the G8 with a 361 or 415hp V8 and rear wheel drive isn't a real car is not too smart. He has to expect some flames even though this is a Camaro forum.

Even on its worst day, the G8 will look better than a Lancer or EVO.

I agree that it's abuse of power to pull you over just to check out your car but what are your options? What's to keep them from inventing a reason if you balk? In the past I have been pulled over having the license plate light not working on a sunny afternoon when my lights weren't even on (It did work) and for a "security check" (whatever that is) even though they don't do spot checks in this state. Luckily most cops won't do this.

Practically speaking, you don't really have any options. You could file a complaint after the fact, but as you point out, the cop can always invent a justification if he/she wants to.

"Security check" is not a valid reason. Reasonable suspicion must be "individualized", meaning that they must have reason to believe you personally have done something illegal.

My advice is to be polite and cooperative during the stop. Don't "balk". If you're going to make a complaint, just make sure you have the officer's name and badge number, and do it later.

Actually, you'd be amazed how many cops don't know this, and think they can pull over anyone for any reason they want.

When did I ever say it wasn't illegal? It is illegal. It's just that the last person (StoutFiles) who got angry and said cops shouldn't be allowed to pull people over to look at cars was banned.

I don't want anyone else to be banned because there are too many cop members and a cop mod (Milk 1027) for this topic to be discussed fairly. Negative opinions will be considered cop hating. Free speech is not allowed for this topic.

yeh the g8 is way better than the lancer i'll agree with that...i just wish gm had better sedan options than just cadillacs which are awesome

seems the definition of what a real car is not the same as i had meant it.. not that i am concerned..

in any case.. i prefer the look of the camaro over any of the newer cars out today. Took my gf to our local dealership where they have red one.. she liked it.. (she thought it looked .. bigger (bigger then a pony?? .) ( i didnt say anything.. ) but i dont think i realized how .. wide it looks? after a few small cars.. ya it looks bigger..

as to unwanted attention.. i suppose just going to the local store in a camaro.. is going to draw a crowd.. lol. cops.. hmmm.. that wouldnt be so bad as long as i am not doing anything wrong.. lol..
small town so the cops are local.. well as local as it can be these days..
