And the other end is connected to ground then? If so, then there is definitely 6 amps being drawn when both lights are on.

Ok so what do you recommend I do? Should I try and get a new relay that has that NC terminal you mentioned? Or is there something else I could use? I believe this has an NC pin: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ue=RadioShack#. So if I got this, I would connect everything like it was before except the load resistor would go from the NC terminal directly to the ground?

That is correct if you want to stick with a relay. I would recommend using two N-channel MOSFETs like in my previous posts, but no one has gotten it working yet. I'm almost tempted to make one myself even though I have no interest in sequential taillights...

Well I think once you see them in real life you'll decide to keep them haha but I think I'll just stick with the relay since everything on mine is already wired up and ready to go and all I would have to do is switch out the relay!

Oh come on, you've suckered all of us into this mosfet setup, the least you could do is build one and get it to work!!! Seriously . . . I'm really interested in the working version of your ideas . . . hoping someone can get it to work and eliminate the BCM errors also

Paul

Well if highlifeman is correct like it sounds like he is, I should have a working version of this, BCM free, tomorrow night after I get a chance to run to RadioShack. I'll post the new relay I get and how to connect it and should be able to test it Friday so I can tell you if it works!

not sure what the deal was with the double N-type mosfet setup not working. i haven't had a chance to work with it again and probably won't until after this weekend. but wired up according to the configuration of the diagram previously posted, it didn't work for this guy. gonna keep plugging away at it though...

I dont think the relay will help. I did a current draw on one blinker bulb with the car not running ( so around 12.5v) and each bulb draws 2.5 amps. So 5 amps total when blinkers running, if you are drawing 6 amps with the resistors that shouldnt set the bcm code therefore changing relays will not help. The bcm is setting a code because it doesnt see enough current and thinks the bulb is out. Probably just need a little bigger load resistor to draw a tad more. I have had personal stuff come up this week and havnt had time to mess with it, ill try to get something on the car this weekend and let everyone know.

I don't know, I guess I just think it will look like I am trying to copy the Mustang...

I may still build one and see if anyone I know would be interested in it and let me test it out on their cars.

If that is the case, then a 5 ohm resistor (like digikey part #PF2203-5.000-ND) would be more appropriate and simulate the bulb better.

Well I guess what I'm wondering is, can the BCM be set off by both too much AND too little amperage? If only too little then what whitedemon is saying is correct and I wouldn't need a new relay. If no one knows then I'll disconnect the circuit and only attach the load resistors and see if I get a BCM...

It can be to much. If you have to much current then its going to set a blinker circuit short to ground code and may or may not blink fast. You just need a little more than what you got. Like stated above, maybe 5 ohms of resistance

At 5 ohms, you need more than 35 watts. This one is 50... MP850-5.00-F-ND

This one is a bit less money... RT50J-5.0-ND.
