Changing the rims surprisingly does make a big difference in ride and handling. It seemed to improve acceleration but not sure as its only got 2000 miles on it. It seems to never show the same acceleration consistently.

Damn, sounds like I have a long way to go, nice to find a thread with the common upgrades.

I definitely want to correct the shitty exhaust note on these stock V6s...

How much did these upgrades set you guys back?

Roughly:
Exhaust $400 installed or so..
CAI (CAI) $400 or so
Ported TB. About $180, (once shipping/core return is done)
Catch can about $150 or so...a MUST HAVE
I'm guessing, but the CAI, TB, and exhaust combined are worth a minimum of 20HP, maybe 25-30? But not likely more, but the driveablility factor is HUGE

Cool! Learn something new every day. May have to try porting the heads next winter, but that won't give the NA guys much info.

Haven't looked at it, but I would think you could get some gains.

thanks for all the suggestions on more power guys, especially the lighter wheels option, I'm looking into getting new rims as we speak but my Camaro went back to the dealer today because of a "Service Stabilitrak" issue. hoping its just a bad sensor. ::fingers crossed::

Hey Airmaster, I went with modest upgrades, or what i felt at the time was best band for my buck, These are likely to change in the coming year but I have just a few MODs. Everyone's got their own preferences and granted these are estimates from back when i purchased them several months back

SLP Loudmouth Exhaust : $400
Roto-fab CAI: $380.00
Trifecta Tune(on hold): $470.00
With the exhaust, I'm satisfied with the Loudmouth 1, it comes down to the sound you ultimately want, do some research on exhausts, not everyone like the droning noise mine produces, hopefully that helps...

We can port the LFX heads, but the exhaust side limits how much. Since we remove the valves anyway we have access to much of it.

MRT V2.0 axle back exhaust $549 (no real HP gain)
Injen CAI short ram, chrome tube with shield $280 (10 to 15 HP gain)
Ported throttle body $300 with $150 of that refunded upon return of your TB so $150 total. (HP gain minimal but better throttle response on mine especially around the 4000 RPM mark)
Solo high flow cats $594 currently on sale at this price but that ends today (15 HP gain)

Dean.
