Bugging Your Dealer

My car is in transit, therefore I am extremely happy/excited.

Just curious, how often did you guys bug your dealers about your camaro?

I myself have had the restraint of calling only about 4 times in the past 7 months.

GM customer service however, I've called at least 10-12 times. lol

So how often did you guys bug your dealer asking the status of your order?

I usually stop in to see him every Friday. He said he really doesn't mind and only takes a minute or two to look up and print my workbench history for me. Sometimes if my event code changes and it's not a Friday, he calls my house and leaves a message.

My guys at H & H in Omaha have really been rather patient, and we have given them grief from time to time. But now every Friday I hear from my sales manager on the status. As long as they keep me updated and are as truthful as to what they know, I'm fine with weekly updates. Before May it was about every 2-3 weeks, and I called them.

Yep, they're real nice there.....and to be honest, cars are moving, but not like it was a couple of years ago, so I think he has a little more time on his hands to check on my car.

This question is for Camaro Scotty. When I called dealership yesterday and requested my GM workbench order number the guy that does the ordering asked me if I was going to call GM. He said that when I called the GM 1-800 number all they do is put me on hold and call him for the update, therefore I should just call him instead of GM. Does all this sound correct to you ? Or is this a line of bs.

First it was said people could call the 800#....Then they advised against it, saying the 800# would refer you back to your dealership......Some people got results, some did not.

Tell him you want a print out - because you want as much documentation you can get so when you go to Barret Jackson in 20 years....... Thats all they need to know

He's correct. You CAN ask the rep to not call the dealer and that they don't know anything and they'll try other means but default action #1 is to call the dealer. It sounds like yours actually knows what he's talking about so you shouldn't have a problem.

I've been in contact with my salesman at least TWICE a week! Poor guy. Either thru calls or email. He says he doesn't mind. This way he won't have a chance to forget about me!!

Well the problem is I talked to my salesman last week and he told me I received allocation for my car on June 9th. Yesterday the guy that does the ordering tells me they just received allocation this week. I thought I was dealing with some one I could trust but now I am starting to wonder. When I asked for my event code he said I was still at 1100, but he gave me a TPW of the last week in July. I am asking myself right now if this is worth all the hassle.

Customer service will call the dealer regardless. One of my very good customers called "just for the hell of it" and I got three phone calls from the CAC.

If your dealer is too busy to answer your questions now, what's going to happen if you need them later?
