Id like to buy from a dealer that sells for msrp but during the preorder deal they only had 6 allocations given by GM. As of last night the dealer has only been taking names for a waiting list to order, this list has grown to 60+ individuals. Sounds like they are not inputting any orders just placing people on that waiting list. Its like they will wait till they have an extra allocation from GM then they will place the order. Only 6 allocated to the 3rd quarter would really suck. It would take years to get a car

Is it possible for the dealer to increase their allocation?
Can the dealer place the order in workbench even if they dont have an allocation yet? If GM sees the 60+ orders for the Camaro, will it increase the dealer allocation?

No the dealer cannot increase allocation. Its handed out by GM in a fair and equitable mannor.
I believe the dealer can put the order in workbench. Thats what the 1100 status of your order is. Until they get an allocation for it it stays at 1100.
No it won't make any difference if they have x number of orders without allocation.

oh sorry yeah I knew the dealer couldnt increase the allocation themselves. I was just hoping that if GM sees the amount of orders from the dealership, GM will give them more allocations. To my understanding isnt sales one of factors in GMs preorder allocation distribution?

Will it hurt the dealership to place the orders in workbench even if they dont have any allocation?
