Yea, that's why the government mandated all cars have rear back up cameras by 2014.

that's because there are more stupid clueless distracted people on the road today than 100 years ago, and gov'ts need to protect stupid people from themselves.

You can compare all the trim levels here. And according to this, the LS's do not offer those features, and they're optional on the LT's, etc...

you seem to miss the entire point I was making. chevy could make it standard if they wanted, they choose to leave it off. Honda can do it on a cheap civic because they save money elsewhere, most notable the engine. why do you think they use timing belts instead of chains? Honda isn't able to include it for nothing, they have to make tradeoffs in the performance department. smaller engine, front wheel drive, smaller wheels, ect, ect. they do this because they aren't competing with the camaro, they're competing with the carolla, mazda 3, sentra, focus, ect. the camaro competes with the charger and mustang. GM basses the standard features on what those cars are offering. not what a compact car comes with. get it now?

Chevy doesn't include it standard to keep the price down. if your not worried about price, get a higher trim level and get it. hell, GM offers stabitrack standard on all camaro's, why doesn't Honda on it's cars. are they perhaps behind the 8 ball. see how that works?

exactly why is it your so hell bent on comparing the camaro to a civic, does your wife drive one or something? the corolla doesn't come with a back up cam standard, neither do the sentra, focus or cobalt. hell, Honda doesn't even offer it standard on the fit.

Oh like the government has any clue? Get serious, just like they did with air bags. Do you really thing they give a crap about you or me? It's all dollars and cents. Insurance payouts medical bills and such.

Add the ipod interface, heads up display, bluetooth all yourself if you care that much. My 1lt doesn't have all of the stuff, but thats because it wasnt on the car when I bought it used, it comes standard with everything you need. Do you really need all of that? You don't need a radio, but it comes standard. I plan on buying all the stuff to make it a 2lt, and it would be cheaper then what it would've costed to add on.

All of that is available.

Please don't compare the Camaro to a Civic. You're paying for more than buttons and switches. You're paying for the best performance platform in its class.

New '13 Civics begin @ 18,165K, not 16K. Camaro begins @ $24,245, plus $1,000 rebate, not 26K.

I understand what you're trying to say but Civic and Accord are all new for 2013 whereas the Camaro is nearing the end of it's product cycle. They aren't just going to automatically upgrade everything about the vehicle just as you would w/ an all new version. So your comparo isn't really accurate this way either.

Not to mention, but you're pimping Honda? Really? Honda hasn't even given aux ipod jacks on LX models before this year, so Honda are hardly a good example to cite when it comes to basic electronics. If anyone, they have been the ones that have been "cheaping out" for years.

Camaro in 1LT Trim begins @ $26,600 and has everything w/ the exception of b/u camera, which is a $495 option. After the rebate $26,095. Nowhere close to your 30K suggested price.

Lastly, you can put the Mona Lisa in the Civic and it would still only be boring reliable basic transportation. No one ever wrote a song about a Civic or an Accord.

So.... If you're going to throw out "facts" please be sure that they're accurate.

Bonanza, was it the same dealer we have discussed in the past? The one across the street from the place with the car on the roof?

Since when did everyone become terrible drivers? I have NEVER needed a back up camera and could care less if any car I buy ever again has one. It's for the lazy, crappy drivers.

Learn the 4 corners of you car, that's basic schooling back when you get your license.
