An SS convertable would be cool, hearing the engine and exhaust roar with the open top. Your in a great area for one.

I'd get the SS if you can. I had to get a V6 since my DD is 80 miles round trip.

I just got an amazing deal on a beater car over the weekend, and I'm looking to trade for an SS now and let it be my main car. A lot of people on this site love to bash the V6, it makes them feel better about themselves. The V6 is a fantastic car and still quicker than 90% of what's on the road today, so don't let all the posts fool you about how slow it is, because it's not.

your right, the v6 is a nice car, you just have to prepare yourself for the people that always ask "does it have a v8", and then you say no, then they go "oh, i bet it still runs pretty good though?

And you tell them it has 323HP and that you can get up to 30 MPG's. This site will make you feel like everyone is judging your car, but they're not. 99% of the population out there don't care the first thing about the engine, it's the looks of the car at first. I was that way.

Heck, I've even had car enthusiasts say up until this gen they wouldn't own anything but a V8, but since the 6 is so quick and has good MPG's, the 6 is a much better value. I had the option to get both when I first got mine, to me as a DD the 6 is a much better deal. The 8 is a bigger, badder beast, but for the maintenance on these things it's borderline ridiculous.

How are things going with the Camaro SS purchase, REDDNOZE? If you would like us to research the warranty information please let us know since we will need the last 8 digits of the VIN in order to do so.

If you have your heart set on a V8 then get it. I bought a V6 because it was in my budget, the V8 wasn't. I really would have liked to have gotten the SS but I tell you what I am really impressed with the power of the V6 and with MRT V2 exhaust it sounds pretty damn sweet and it cost me $10k less over buying an SS.

I have had a few tell me why a V6 and not the V8. My reply is my pockets aren't that deep. One of friends asked what was under the hood, I didn't say anything and fired it up and then said it was a V6. His reply, really that sounds great. A couple weeks ago a stranger stopped by my car and asked "what are they putting in those cars these days"? "Well" I said, "this one here has the V6 in it" the guy kind of had that "oh" look on his face until I told him there was 323 HP under the hood, CAI adds up to 15HP more so it is pushing close to 340HP. His reply then was "wow".

You buy what you want AND can afford. JMO.

Dean.

Get the SS and tow around that Excursion. you'll regret it if you would have gotten the V6.

The SS vert that was in my budget was sold but after weeks of research i finally got to drive and get a close up interaction.... F@*K i love the Camaro. My son (4yrs) loved how it transformed (put the top down). Backseat is really small but thats what wifes car is for. The V6 is not terrible at all its faster than my Excursions 0-60 in 2weeks lol. I almost bought a 2013 but salesman couldnt trick me well enough. I should make a purchase in the next week or 2 I wanna take a drive 2 California more verts and better prices. Thanks for all the input guys Im trying for SS but its gonna boil down 2 budget. The more I spend the longer it will take to MOD. sorry about the book I wrote^^ but im so excited

I use my V8 as a DD these days, and the only maintenance so far is an oil change and winter tires. It is "borderline ridiculous" as you say, but in a good way
