Why would they detune the LS3 to 400hp? That's what the LS2 makes. I think it would only be slightly detuned to 420hp or 425hp.

So, now I think launch model will be SS LS3

With Z28 coming later with maybe supercharged V8, maybe DI Gen 5

You know, this car is fun and it isn't even available yet!

dont forget the 396/325hp 396/350hp 396/375hp
not to mention RS/SS Z28/RS for those curious

Car looked B-E-A-U-T-FUL!!

We need to find a sound clip of the LS3 in the Corvette to compare.

Good point. Look at all the publicity this car is getting. GM is lucky this is happening. They can cut serveral millions off the advertising budget because of this.

Thus, setting a better price

You know, I saw this and discounted it.

But you make a good point. GM repeatedly says 400hp 6.0 liter V8.

Will they resurrect the LS2?

Tune in tomorrow...

A simple "nope" spawned a full page of posts...
I love reading these!

(Oh, and Gen V is a "nope" as well. At least not the first couple of years)

Well we know it is a v8 and we know it is manual. That's all I really need to know. I'm sure it'll be fast. Again, good enough for me.

There will be a Z28
That car will be availible at launch
It will have 400 hp
That engine will be a detuned LS3
There will be an SS
The SS will come later
It will make 550 hp
It will feature a Supercharger
The engine will be called an LSAMany sources believe this is the way it will be

So, there are many things that could be wrong there. We just don't have any clue as to what. But Fbodfather never said that everything was wrong . . . just 'several nopes'. So, Fbodfather please feel free to quote this post and put a 'nope' beside the things that aren't going to happen. It will relieve much of the confusion here. Thank you in advance.

it was worth a shot, wasn't it?

I put what I think are the "nopes" in red. I think the V8 at launch is going to be in the SS. It follows the current badging schedule of Chevy. I think the Z28 will the be the Hi-Po Gt500 Killer to follow. It has been speculated that the supercharged motor for the Z28 will be the LS8. Just my guesses!
