...I think the Camaro backup camera is cool...it locates potential targets of interference, alerts the driver to same with an icon and audible warning, and provides a grid with proximity distances.....nifty!

...maybe they changed it. Mine is like an Apache Longbow targeting system with audible warnings...it's the coolest thing...a real attention getter....

We have the yellow triangle symbols and audible alerts on the display as you get near an object which is cool but we thought we would have the option to also have the grid lines included since it was on color touch radios in the '12 models MyLink system. We gained the Nav function with the MyLink for '13 but lost the grid lines in the process.

...understood, the '12 has visual changing angles of grids based on the position of the vehicle and an increasing audible alarm nearing the closest point of contact.

You would have thought that no matter what software GM was using for the 2013 MyLink backup screen, that it would have at least chosen software that incorporated the lines on the screen. No matter what version of 2013 Camaro we have, we all spent a great deal of $$$ on this car and should have at least no less than the 2012 versions had in the rear view mirror. GM definitely needs to address this issue and give us an upgrade with the guidelines. I love my car but I am very dissatisfied with this issue.

The funny part is when I am backing up and using my mirrors and that darn thing keeps beeping at me, then I stop and go WTF. Look very hard in mirrors and mirror and see that it picked up the one inch drop from garage to driveway,,,,

I have the 2010 2LT and mine doesn't have backup sensors as they were added a couple weeks after the build of my car.

However, I did notice that when driving a 45th Anniversary car, where the HUD is shown appears to be the front of the car. So I don't go any further forward then where it appears to be.

I added the highwing spoiler and that appears to help for backing up. Before I had that, I used to put my head on the roof of the car, or up into the sunroof to see the stock spoiler for backing up.

That, along with a front facing camera that displays when in 1st. If I could just see part of the splitter in the camera when parking . . .
As it is now, I get out after each parking job and see how close I got. It's a horribly iterative process to get a feel for the size of my car without scraping . . .
