You have to realize how much angst those Dodge boys endure. Daimler's hostile takeover of Chrysler in 1998, the sale to Cereberus in 2007 then to Fiat in 2009. They bring back the Challenger only to get spanked by the Camaro. Mustang GT gets 100HP bump and Dodge puts the 392 in the SRT's only to see the ZL1 and GT500 steal all the thunder. We'll be there this Thursday. Breaking in new nitto's 555r's for Mopars at the strip at the end of the month! My Wife's L-99 pulls on my 392 a WHOLE lot better than that!

That was definitely a horrible driver. I'm not hating on MOPAR even though my DD is an 06 Daytona, stock for stock sure close race. With mods MOPARS lose all day long. Challengers are a joke unless heavily modded, if my charger wasn't my DD I'd love to drop an insane amount of cash into it and make it stand on 2 wheels.

FYI my heavily modified SS with cam, intake, tune, LTs, DRs went 12:20s snapping axles and smoking a clutch along the way, my 100% bone stock 392 went 12:40s. Yes there were lower ETs possible in both of the cars.

I do wonder how my 392 would have responded with the same mods as the SS? As tuning has just recently been introduced for the 392. Maybe someday I will find out.

IMO if you want to go fast in a SS the L99 is the way to go, slap on a whipple some rubber and a few mods and you have a beast of a car, the LS3 for whatever reason just seems to struggle with the IRS launching to much to be a serious consistent e/t machine.

a buddy of mine had the exact same car as you with the same mods. i ran him a few times. i pulled on him and beat him every time. i have HF cats and an intake. he was telling me he has beaten a few SS's . so there are some out there .

now he has a kenny bell lol. so i am throwing on a turbo then its rematch time lol.

That deffinetly sucks man, sorry you had those issues! But I could not be happier with my car, I have no clutch issues and havent broke a thing after 120+ passes since it was stock and now 44k miles. Every part in my car is stock except my little cam and thats even on the stock valve springs and pushrods, headers with stock catback and different mufflers... All I need is a set of tires to be nocking on 11s with under 2 grand in mods. The biggest part of an ls3 car is the driver, without alot of practice nothing good is gonna happen. It took me about 30 passes after the cam to even run faster then I did before the cam, just based on the fact that I had to relearn the car! Maybe I am lucky IDK, but so far this car has not dissapointed in reliability or performance. I am no were near heavily modded!

Are you 2 both stock? and are those your current times? if so your 392 has alot left in it. You shouldn't be running a 8.7@84
