ahhh I get it now. But are the wires attached to the fog lamps long enough to reach the side marker? and which bulbs work with the side markers, LED's are quite expensive...

5202 bulbs are in the range of as cheap as $30 for the pair! Just add the wires separately its not tough at all.

they can be plugged in to the harness with an adapter but you have to take your car to a dealer for them to program the PCM to recognize it has fog lights..

I see your point - but in reality this has been asked/answered several times in just the year I've been here. Over in the DIY or lighting section there are several threads. Plus the OP would get more specific help if this was posted in the correct sub-forum.

But I think newbies deserve a break the first few times.

I didn't get certain concepts. I read a LOT of threads but didn't get the answers. You guys helped me out some. I still don't know what lights work while being tapped though. Do they have to be LED? I think LED fog lights would look rather dumb with my current headlights.

I just don't see the validity of wasting your time to go "search idiot"

It provides literally nothing and bumps the thread.

No, they do not have to be LED, mine are just the stock tahoe/camaro fog lights with the bulbs that came in them

I'd recommend stock light bulbs for the LS unless you put in HID's. Then go for the LED's that match up. Just my 2cents.

I just bought a set of aftermarket fogs and pair of OEM bezels for mine. It came with a wiring harness and everything right in the box. I just ran a connection to the battery positive under the hood, wired a ground, and ran the wiring through the driver's side firewall grommet. Then I installed a rocker switch above the headlight knob on the dash panel to turn them on and off independently of anything else. Only hassle I had was that the mounting brackets didn't fit the Camaro, but the lights did, so I had to fabricate my own mounting brackets.

If the dealer have the pcm recognize the fogs would they still be on all of the time without a switch being present? Anybody want to update or comment on pros/cons of each method? Ill start it up

Side marker t-tap
Pros:
Easier
No dealer involvement
Cheaper

Cons:
DIY look

Stock harness
Pros:
Cleaner

Cons:
Dealer needs to update pcm
More expensive

I installed fog lights on my 2012 ls last week...

I got the bezels from amazon for $9 each

Got fog lamp assembly with bulbs included for $50 on ebay (07-11 Tahoe)

And I got the harness from 2SSRS (gen5diy)
His harness requires no tapping into wires!! I was worried about doing it but it was so easy with this harness!!

My fog lights now go on when the parking lights are on at night.

I can look for links to what I bought if anyone wants.
