I agree. Somehow I doubt GM has kept everything under wraps for as long as they have and yet decided to let this information reach some salesman. That salesman didn't say anything substantive at all. Everyone already knows there are supposed to be changes. Most salespeople I've run into don't even know much about the cars on the showroom floor much less some speculated car.

He has told me things in the past that came true, but for some reason now he is being tight lipped on this. I think it may be due to GM trying to tighten up on leaks after the Stingray deal.
Give us his name and number. I'm sure he'll be happy to pass along any information he knows in order to sell some 2014 Camaros. But in the end he will tell all of us the same thing he told you...nothing.

What did he tell you and what did you post that can be "proven" on the 27th that hasn't already been talked about on this and every other automobile message board? I'm not totally calling your guy out, he could have his finger to the pulse of GM in Detroit, but I highly doubt it. What are "big" changes anyway? Was the mylink a big change? Was changing V6s a big change? Some people on here went nuts when they changed the rearview mirror so I guess to them, a mirror is a big change. My point....big change is subjective.

Might have a few deletes you can do on the list to shave weight and have HP but no drastic changes occurring.

Hideaway headlamps will never return as much as I'd like that. They don't work well. How many times have you seen that corvette or fiero with one headlight stuck open? Too often.

As for mpgs on LS7, is that really an issue? Really? "I want an ls7, but im not going to get it unless it gets umpteen mpg." Completely idiotic and inane. A car like that can get 3 mpg for all I care, if you're worried about mpgs get a v6 or better yet go electric or a smart car. What are you? Treehugging? Power will come at an expense. The term pay to play stands and won't ever change.
I pretty much can tell that you are missing the point when the acronym "MPG's" gets thrown out here..it's about the cost of ownership bud. I am not willing to pay the government 2K on top of the price of a car because it gets shitty mileage. That is what is insane!! There are options out there and other companies achieve better HP ratings on smaller displacement engines but we are OK with settling on "what is available" I did pay to play when I bought my SS back in early '09 and being and R6P car I purchased it without seeing one in person because I WANTED it and I could. I think it is time to step up the game and GM has with the addition of the LT series motors. That would be my choice for the engine in this car, and yes it would be more expensive, but putting an out-dated LS7 in the Camaro just to say my D*$k is bigger than yours is absolutely dumb. Spend the money, pull it into your garage and mod it yourself, get to know your tools, change the cam, change your own oil..you'll have the satisfaction of you're own success and an awesome performing car...that's how I grew up.

I agree with most everything but the mod it yourself idea. When I was younger I always did minor maintenance and upkeep on my cars. Now, I don't have the time or desire. But assuming I had both, I wouldn't want to void my warranty unless I knew I had enough coin in the bank to pay to fix whatever I broke

For those who would immediately want an LS7'd Camaro, THAT would be the specific reason GM SHOULD build 'em...

As to hideaway headlights, you'll need to poll NHTSA to change their "guidelines".

Boy are you guys gullible... There is no salesman there never was but heres the real scoop....there will be drastic life changing changes to the 2014 Camaro, yes there will be a LS7 z28. There will be a twin turbo V6, the entire interior will be redone with the best materials money can buy, oh and there will be a $2,000 price reduction on every model...
Now is everyone Happy?

I don't care if its got an LS7 or an LT1, but the HP should be plentiful, from the factory with a warranty and the car should be either a drivers race among the big 3 with comparable cars or blow them out. The price should not be that much more. I agree the 2k gas guzzler tax is bullshit. But look at it like this, what if GM just added 2k to the price to cover it and you didn't know about it? It wouldn't hurt you then right? There's many on this board that DO care about mpgs. They want their cake and eat it too. My opinion is that while its been proven you can do it, they won't do it. Why doesn't the factory install twin turbos on V-6 and V-8s with a warranty? It'll cost more sure but they could offer it. I find it dumb to have to allocate to get a car yet you have to get it to their liking and not yours. You should be able to add and delete things off the list if you have to put up a down payment on a car at a dealership no?
