Rate That Mod Day 5: Kooks Long Tube Headers

Looks like the Razzi body kit didn't to well on last time's Rate that mod...ouch. Well so far here are the scores

Anvil Notched Spoiler 9.21
Muffler Delete (V8) 8.29
Terminator CF Hood 3.89
Razzi Body Kit 2.30

Hopefully Today's Mod will do better

Todays Mod that will be facing the critics is the well known Kooks Long Tube Headers. Often viewed up there with the best that money can buy...is it worth the price tag or does it fall flat?

The fact that it bolts on to the factory mounts is a big plus for me personally, and the build quality truly seems to be second to none. Unfortunately that price tag...ouch...

Gonna give it a 9.25/10

Damn near perfect if it wasn't for that price...but hey you DO get what you paid for!

I also want to say that when applicable I will try to use pictures and videos to represent the mods in question just to give people an idea of what the mod is like if they do not already know. I pull these at random either from Google or Youtube. If you find that I have used something you submitted and want me to take it down please let me know and I will immediately!

I also used Kooks LT headers. I'll give you a 9.5.

Kooks is extremely dissappointing to me. I'm always willing to pay for top quality. However, my Kooks appear to have been machined improperly. They rub my steering column. Kooks has done little to help the situation, simply saying, "send that header back". Now I have to spend time (money) to remove them and send them back to Kooks for warranty work. During this time, my car has to sit and wait. The headers will end up costing me almost double what they should.

I will never buy another Kooks product again.

My 2" is a very tight fit but it fits. Quality looks very good.

I love my kooks but I too get steering column rub and I get a little sub frame rattle if I take off using no gas but I do have the 2in primary's. No big deal to me but some hate it. 8.0 from me

slide the engine over it'll move about a half inch... factory spec issue not a kooks problems.... this happens with other headers sometimes as well... dimple the header or move the engine.

Already moved the engine, didn't work. When you're supercharged you don't have a lot of play to work with there. The rubbing is lower on the column, not at the boot like most people.

And sorry, I'm not taking a hammer and banging out a $1500 set of headers because they fit poorly. They should work properly and not need to be smashed around. Excuses don't fly for Kooks on this one. At the very least, they should send me a new driver side header to reduce my down time.

I love my Kooks headers! No fitment issues at all and great sound. I say 9.5/10 just because of the price.
