Other than the one which doesn't require a tune to get the most out of it, is there anything better in terms of HP / Torque gains?

Thanks so much. Looking to order tonight
As i said before Jannetty racing has a package which inc.foto-fab cali and it is a no tune package.it will add 75rwhp to your car.If you can talk with Ted jannetty. He has a ZL1 and this package on his car.

A CAI will not cause an issue but the no Tune package from Ted might. Sure there is no tune but it requires changing the lower supercharger pulley which overdrives the supercharger. Changing the pulley and the blower running at higher RPMs could be an issue.

At this time the only 99% warranty safe performance mod for the ZL1 is a CAI. With a pulley there is a distinct chance if the supercharger was to fail the pulley could be used to void the warranty.

If a warranty is 100% important to you I would consider a Roto-Fab CAI as my only mod. Beyond that the only way to add more Hp and guarantee a warranty would be sending the car to Lingenfelter or Hennessy who will provide a supplemental warranty the downside is they charge a bunch more than DIY.

Thanks BlackinBlack, the problem there is sending the car half way across the world and then living without it for 3 months and sending it back is just too much for me.

I am sure now on doing the tune and CAI and looking for the best CAI in terms of gains. I understand the prob with these cars is not HP but torque so looking for more torque rather than HP. Thanks

Totally understand not wanting to ship it around the world.

If your plan is only a CAI then don't tune the car and save the warranty. Both Roto-fab and K&N both make a CAI that is no tune and will give about 25 - 35 crank HP which will put the car over the 600 HP mark without voiding the warranty. A tune will add a little more but not enough to throw away the warranty.

If you are going to tune and void the warranty then based on $$$ spent you can add headers, pulley, injectors, etc. Pretty much everything is an option then.

My experience with the car is it is not lacking torque. (550+ lb-ft) Mine spins the tires easy in 1st and 2nd.

Actually, there is no guarantee if you touch anything on the car. A CAI could CERTAINLY void the warranty if GM found it to create the problem for which you were making a claim. ANY performance mod done to the car could void the warranty, just depends on how your dealership proceeds with the claim.

True. That is why I said 99% on the CAI. My experience has been that no dealer has given a CAI a 2nd look. My SS had one and my ZL1 does now. Between both cars half a dozen dealers have worked on these two cars. None of them said one thing about the CAI. The only thing I have seen a CAI cause an issue is an over oiled filter ruining the MAF sensor and that would not be covered. (Guy in my club did this and had to buy a new MAF sensor.)

If a person wants a 100% guarantee that the warranty will not be voided. Stock is the only way.

Correct. With a CAI and NO tune if you replace the CAI with the stock intake before service there is no way for them to know.

You don't have to go that route. The dealers don't look at the Roto-Fab as a problem. I know my local dealer has not said anything. Your being a bit too overly cautious perhaps? As I have stated before if there was a problem adding a Roto-Fab and being denied a warranty claim don't you think there would be a mile an a half long thread about!

When in doubt, just ask your dealer. When I had my 2011 SS, not only did the dealer install it for me, I bought it through them. it was a CAI from CAI.

Look, what you could do is drive the car hard for a while and make sure there are no drivetrain issues that need warranty work. Then, go ahead and retune, enjoy the car, realizing that it's still under warranty for anything EXCEPT drivetrain issues.

Problem solved.

my dealer told me a CAI will void my warrenty because the cars memory will record that the mass air was not stock.
