Zack: "Hi! I'm Zack the new hire."

Manager: "Hi Zack. Wear this nametag that says "Fred"."

Zack: "But my name is Zack. You're supposed to give me a nametag that matches my name."

Manager: "Well, the last 4 people in your position were named Fred, and it would mean a lot to folks if they could call you Fred too."

Rick: "Why is everyone correcting me for calling the new hire Fred?"

Mike: "Because he's really Zack."

Rick: "No he's Fred. Says so on his nametag."

Mike: "I'm gonna wear a nametag that says Chuck."

Nobody calls my Camaro an F-body. They call it "Sir"
Practically everything that GM made for years said "Body by Fisher" on the door sills. Fisher Body was a separate division that made the bodies for all the different divisions. This all goes back the early days of automobile manufacturing. The automobile manufacturers built only the chassis and a separate coach company would install a body on it. These coach companies were usually the same companies that had previously built stage coaches. GM often used a coach company owned by the Fisher Brothers, so they just bought it, like they did with almost every other competitor/supplier that they came it contact with. That's how they got so large. Fisher Body got rolled into the manufacturing divisions back in the 80's and those little stage coach emblems on the door sills disappeared.

Scott says it's an F-body then well it's an F-body. Who are we to argue?!

(not that I am or was)

In the long run they are Panther bodies... lol

I don't understand why things like these bother people so much.

It's a Camaro. Isn't that all we need to know.

Mother: I just found today that I'm pregnant! Were having a son! You'd better be thinking of boy's names.

Father: You know that my great-grandfathers name was Frank. My grandfathers name was Frank. My fathers name was Frank. My name is Frank. Why don't we just name him Frank?

Mother: I know all about your family history, but this boy is going to be his own unique person. Don't you think he should have is own unique identity?

Father: Yes, but you know that everybody is going to expect my first born son to be named Frank. He will still be able to have his own unique personality. Just give me this one thing. You know it's my family tradition.

Mother: You know, I think you're right! Frank it is!

Hey! Look at the bright side! These must be really good cars, if this is all we can find to argue about.

Except the baby had already been born, and the biological father is actually Zed the mailman from Australia, who already named the son Zed II.

Yeah and Zed's mother was Opel. She was from Germany. In the end she decided that it would be in the best interest of the baby if she named him Frank.

Then they found out it was actually a cyborg created by two scientists that named it GMX-521 and GMX-511.

GMX??!! Uh-Oh! Don't tell me that I'm going to find out that GM really took the F-Body back to it's original roots, the X-Body!
Actually, Opel is the stepdaughter of some American General from Detroit. Sometimes he claims her and sometimes he doesn't.
I'm afraid if we take this any further, we're going to find out just how much incest there is in the car business.
I think I'm going to retreat back to my original story. It's a F-Body and I know it is because The F-Bod Father said so.

Agreed. F-Bod Father also said it's a Zeta II, a GMX-521 and a GMX-511. So I guess just pick the one you like best and roll with it.

Yeah, I know. I always knew that it was on a Zeta II platform, but I could never understand why that everybody seemed to think that that excluded if from being a F-Body. All the previous generations were on different platforms, but they were all F-Bodies, and coded as such in their VINs. The 5th Gen is on yet another platform and coded as a F-Body in its VIN. The only difference is, that back in the day GM didn't name their platforms with Greek letters, like they do now. I didn't see how that would change whither it was a F-Body or not, but everyone else on these boards seemed to think that it made all the difference in the world. When I started this thread, I figured that they would chew me up and spit me out, but I felt I was right and I planned on putting up a good fight. Then the F-Bod Father came to my defense and that swung the tide in my direction. After that I only had a few hard heads to deal with. I'm not on here to make enemies and I don't really think it makes all that much difference, but I feel that if some newbie comes on here and asks a question, they deserve to get the correct answer. And that part about GMX-521 and a GMX-511 was all news to me. It's a good thing that everybody didn't know about that or we'd have been arguing about that too. lol

And by they way, does anybody know what the difference between GMX-521 and a GMX-511 is? I'm assuming that one is the Convertible and the other one is the coupe. But that assumption could be wrong and If I get it wrong, that could be the start of another Camaro5 fight and we can't have that.

Never mind. I googled it. The GMX511 is the Convertible and the GMX521 is the coupe.
