How far from the trunk lid does the tv extend?
there is a fib erglass backing and then the tv framing is glassed into the fabbed shell..will keep you updated on which way we proceed to resolve this issue.

Maybe reverse the latch to where the release in not in the truck lid but attached to the body and then the emergency release could go down to behind the license plate.

you could be the answer, sounds like you have a vert, and i know the verts have the key switch on side of the rear seat as the verts don,t have a folding back seat..are you sure he did not use the keyed switch on side of seat

I mean how much are you willing to spend?? If you can spare some cash, what if u run the manual release from the deck lid to where the bowtie is and then have a body shop modified the bowtie and cut it into the deck lid in its current position and use the bowtie as the handle.. kinda like the new WV that use the back emblem to pop the truck.. this might be crazy but I mean overall u could run the manual release and attached it to the bowtie and make it to where u can pull it like a handle... wouldn't that b cool??

with no way to lock it, someone could pop trunk and steal everything..i,m just trying to give myself an option on getting into trunk manually if for some reason the electronic release fails ..i,m more hoping i can drill small hole behind emblem , an use a allen key or something of that nature and pop trunk, even if i reattach bowtie to trunk lid, at least i know there is a way to open trunk with 10 minutes of dental floss .lol ..if needed..

+1 on that... Being a tech, I know solenoids fail...Often! I'm in the same boat, looking for some kind of remote cable attachment that I can run somewhere behind the seat.

If I have a way to open it, I will never need it... But if I don't? Murphy!
