BIG difference between a city wide manhunt and someone breaking into your home...
OK I respect that but I'll just answer it for ya. You and 99% of the country would defend yourself and or you're family if someone broke into you're house. Whether it be with a gun, knife, bat, any object or just by calling the police. That's a fact. No there is no difference between a manhunt or just a common criminal breaking in a house. Why werent normal citizens able yo to do what theyve always done. Its fact normal citizens are the best eyes and ears. In fact a citizen was the one who called to report strange activity outside by theyre boat after the police did theyre sweep. By doing what was done did not provide more safety or make the situation any better. There has been manhunts numerous times throughout history , however not once has martial law been declared and a house to house sweep ever been done.

So if cops shouldn't be able to search your house without your permission while looking for a dangerous suspect on the loose in your area, that's just swell....for the criminal that is...

Instead of hiding in a boat, waiting for another Great Flood as an escape plan, all the criminal would have to do is successfully hide somewhere in your dwelling without your knowledge and have a sanctuary.....God, I love this country....

What if there was a serial killer in my community? Cops are free game to come in my house? OK!
I guess here is my overall point. Where do we draw the line?

The precedence that was set is astounding. NOT ONCE has Martial Law been invoked to search for ANY ALLEDGED criminal. Evar! And yet people are being forced out of their own houses (no, no warrant shown- or even time to show it. You see/hear the occupants did not even have time for consent). And yet after all this. After the whole "search and seizure" was called off, it was a simple citizen who found the suspect and reported it.

I'm sure the naked man who was shown handcuffed and stripped for all the world to see, would have a little input on this (you can also see that the SUSPECT HIMSELF was not strip searched).

Forcing the people out of their homes at gunpoint, while searching them and putting them under guard.....where does the line become drawn? Where do we say our rights are being trampled on? Under what next pretext does the government trample on our rights?

As for those that are saying "the internet tuff guys are coming out and blah blah. But the internet tuff guys would do nothing". Yup, you are probably right. ALL the more reason that this shouldn't happen. The overwhelming show of force by the government just underscores how hard it would be to fight off a government that decided to do stuff like this. Do you remember the reason for the 2nd and 4th amendments? Its about protection from our own government.

Let me be clear; I am not saying that any of this is a big conspiracy brought on by some administration to overthrow the constitution. I am no conspiracy theorist. What I am saying is its impossible to put the genie back in the bottle. Once you have taken one step, it becomes that much closer to the next step etc.

Its a very slippery slope to travel.

Bottom Line: Our GOV new an attack was going down that day, no denying it, you clearly see the CRAFT techs in many photos within feet of the 2 bombs going off near the finish line, then disappear after....... no pics of them helping the victims...........

They "CRAFT" were their to try and stop this, but why the disappearing act after the bombs went off?
Uh no. The JFK Library incident was completely unrelated.

Yeah the JFK one had nothing to do with the other bombs. The JFK fire was due to a maintenance problem.

I wonder how many folks in here believe this was a Gov run operation, also believe 9/11 was an inside job...

oh wow how did i miss this convo. Im totally in on the not feeling how this thing has proceeded. Not convinced on all the conspiracy theory stuff but the major news and GOV are pretty much full of sh*t most of the time.

I noticed that alot of you all dont live in the NE area but i do and it seems that alot of ppl here are happy the search is all over. on the flip side when you get people to talk more in depth about it no one is liking the perceived legal process. Its more like yea why did the police do this that and I hope they dont screw this case up doing thing outside the normal legal process. This all Seemed to be the topic of the day on the news and most ppl seemed kinda concerned about what/how the feds were going about things. ts good to see some here also have those concerns and want the see the process carried out the right way

you are apparently one of the many real terrorists in america....why wouldn't you let us trample all over your rights? were doing it to protect you.....Next it will be OK to put soldiers on every corner so your safer, I mean who would commit a crime with a soldier standing there with a machine gun right?

There are mechanisms in place for the police to use if they feel that a suspect is in your house, they can even call in a warrant. there is a reason they have those mechanisms. To bypass them for any reason creates a slippery slope, and if you bypass them for one reason then why not for other reasons, why not any reason.

And if we can trample on this right, why not other rights, why not all of them...for your safety of course......

Seriously, this is the reason why police work should be left to police...... Lets stay off of politics or the thread will be shut down and any further conversation on the topic.
