I like chrome the best ,but certain cars look good with black wheels. As far as them looking dirty, they only look dirty when they actually are.

Yeah, I think this also with some wheels. I think I prefer the look of the stock wheels glossy black rather than flat.

That's just my opinion...to each his own.
LOL, yeah I know what you mean about the chrome packages.

My thoughts also. But when she sees a car with black/dark wheels they look dirty to her because they are not bright/shiny/polished/chrome etc. She doesn't think they look like "nice" wheels. I think she thinks they just look like cheapo wheels. LMAO. I understand her thinking, though. I'm more in the....those wheels look "cool".....camp, rather than thinking....those wheels look "nice".

I like my dirty wheels. I will rock them even if the "fad" dies. I think they're easier to keep clean than the MS stockers. Plus, it helps the calipers "pop" if you've got yours painted/coated.

These are the only ones I've seen that "I" really like (Excellent choice). The Red contrasting ring just fits well with the car color. I use to like chrome as you can see with my old Chevelle, but Chevrolet today has come out in the last several years with some really nice standard/optional wheel choices that really fit the car model. The painted aluminum wheels on my 2SS just seem perfect for me anyway.

That car would look a lot better with black stripes to match the black wheels. I'd thought of putting black wheels on my Camaro, but I just don't know.
In my area, all the import cars are running black wheels. Its a popular trend at the moment.
They're (lots of stockish import cars owners) are painting the stock factory wheels black to look cool (civics, etc).
But on the other extreme (price wise), my neighbor put black wheels on his Porsche Turbo. Like I said, its a popular trend at the moment.

Only thing I don't like about black wheels is alot of times they just get hidden into the shadows of the wheel wells. Especially if there isn't a different color lip to distinguish the rim from the tire. Yours looks badass though. Doesn't get hidden in the shadows. It still pops out.

Thanks, man! I've liked them quite a bit so far.

Havoc rims are sick
Well, since I've posted this thread, my once gf is now my fiancée :-) of course I'm going to listen to her but doesn't mean I'm going to do what she says, hence, I do have the wheels and she's never cared for them. Even before I got them.

And no, I'm not embarrassed by asking this question or bringing up this topic, and anybody that would be most likely has some obvious insecurities.

Black Rims

I'm getting my SS striped next week and adding a couple of quarter panel stripes, all done in black matte. Not sure if the rear quarter panel stripes are too much but I'm going for it. I'm still undecided on the rims though?

Black wheels look great when put on the right color car. They do not look dirty. LOL.

Old school here and prefer the 'Chrome' look but it's to each it's own. If I was 35-40 years younger I'd probably feel as strongly for all 'Black' rims.

black rims why?

Because racecar.

I always considered painted rims to be kind of a nod to racecars and chrome or shiny rims to be more of a "show" kind of thing.

Do black rims make sense on a mini van? no, no they don't.
But on a car like ours that is just as at home on the track as on the street? definetly.

To me it all depends on the car really.
