I get that you're not a fan of it and that is OK (live and let live)....but how is it a "gimmick"? Yes I do desire to keep my car stock...at least for now. Dual mode exhaust works like a charm and sounds great. It's loud when you fire it up, quiets down when you give it just a little throttle until you get up to 2800 RPM's and then it opens up again. It's subtle but definitely noticeable.

I guess I was only referring to SS cars. My mistake.

Love my dual mode exhaust, its nice to open it up and let it roar and of course it gains power with a more free flowing exhaust, then it can quiet down like if by a cop or just doing a steady speed.........Then it sounds like my old 2011....camaro ss....And one of the reasons the trade in was so much worth it to upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who says no horsepower gain? I have read that it is on par with aftermarket exhausts for horsepower increase on a stock to lightly modded car. What reason's do you guys have for bashing it. THAT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME.

You sure about that? Tried building one on the GM.ca website and you can't get the NPP with an auto. The NPP is only available with a V8 and the 6-speed manual.

Everything I've ever read says this exhaust will give you a HP gain.

Dual mode is not a gimmick. I bet you wished it came stock with your car instead of having to lay down cash to mod it and toss your system. For those who have it, it works like a charm and sounds bad A, and....it's been done by the factory. To each his own. Don't hate, celebrate.

I'm not the one saying there is no horsepower gain, I'm positive there is a horsepower gain when the car opens up it's exhaust leak.

What makes it gimmicky is that it sounds like an old pickup truck with an exhaust leak and horsepower gain is marginal for extra money, about the same power you build by changing your mufflers. Also it only boosts top end power you have no added benefits that real performance exhaust systems offer..low end/midrange I have my sights set a little further than just running an axle back system.

My 2012 SS has the standard exhaust. My 2012 Vet has the dual mode exhaust. Here is my take. I wish you could manually select between the modes of the dual mode exhaust. I would have to check the sticker, but I think the dual mode exhaust was like a $1200 option. That's a lot of money for six hp and sometimes sounds good.

Not available on V8 auto's because of Active Fuel Management. Sounds horrible when it cuts out 2 or more cylinders.

Last time I checked, mine is a 2LT and most definitely has the dual tipped exhausts.
