People that make those statements don't know anything about racing.

Whenever people talk trash I take them to the track and say......see ya later bye...lol. But the guys at the track respect me. The only ones that run there mouth don't have a sports car, I wouldn't take it too seriously. I've seen so many threads on here it's all bout preference and what u plan to do with ur car and what makes u happy, don't let others bring u down

I do have to admit that rowing through the gears can be fun since I have had a manual in the past (not a Camaro) but it sure is fun watching others trying so hard to go fast and miss a shift. I love my automatic and when I want to be in control I use the paddle shifters. You also can't beat the great gas mileage on a road trip with the auto.

A man doesn't give a f#$ k what anyone else thinks or says.
I say that if you drive a Camaro A6 then you are a puss. If this bothers you, see my first sentence - Ha Ha !!!

A manual gives you complete control over the driving experience (well, until they hung that hill-assist bullshit on them).
I would never, and I mean ever, own a performance car with an automatic. As an employee of a large automatic transmission remanufacturer, I can tell you that the percentage of failures of automatics as compared to manuals is considerably higher, as compared to their applications. I wouldn't, however, ever knock anyone that prefers an automatic. I make my living off of them.

*OPINION ONLY*
I personally can't stand automatic muscle/pony cars. I typically attribute automatic muscle cars to one of two types of men. Either A.) They like to drive in a strait line. B.) They never had anyone manly enough to show them how to drive a manual. That being said, there is nothing wrong with drag racing. Love it! I just prefer the road racing a little more and with a manual you can really have some fun with the car and feel more control vs. hitting a paddle. Me personally, if I wanted to hit a paddle I would stay home and play on my kids X Box. Now for the other comment, there was no hate intended. I generally see more feminine characters driving automatic vehicles. Not sure why, and yes it is a little stereo typing on my part but it is a free country in which I fight for so I feel like I have the ability to judge a little. All in all, I don't even care. I only make fun of my own friends when this type of thing ever comes up anyway. If a complete stranger were to ever just come up to me and say some dumb ass crap about my trans I would just turn it on him some how. Like for example; Guy; Ah man you drive a automatic.... Me; Yeah, allows me to keep one hand on the steering wheel and the other in your gi..r... |

if you like your automatic, and somebody says that you're a wimp for driving it, let me know. I'll give them an earful But I prefer my manual over an automatic, and I can give a lot of reasons why it's a good choice.

My youngest daughter drives an automatic, and I bet she can beat any of the guys with a manual:
