which car u think will make me happier in the long run? im gonna be going to drag strips every month and might take it around a speedway as well. i want comfort handling and looks which they both got. i dont really need the rear seats but they could come handy sometimes, but 2 seater works fine.

which car would you think is better?

btw if i get a C6 it would be a 2 yr. old one with low miles so it be about the same price as a new SS

If you live in a state like Az that has no tax on private party auto sales you can make up a lot of the difference in price. With the economy the way it is I would think you will be able to find a really clean low mileage vette at a cheap price. I saw a AO 07 Z06 with 2000 miles a few months ago and they were looking to get $50k for it. May have even taken a bit less, who knows. As a blue oval lover even I can tell you that everyone should own a Corvette at least once in their lives. If the two seater works for you, I say do it. Much smarter to buy one used as you will take a hit on value in 1-2 years if you purchase new. Nothing like a Corvette but once I saw the Z06 I could not settle for a regular C6. Good Luck either way.

I completely agree! I live in AZ as well, if I didn't have a 17 month old son I would be going for a 06-08 Z06 in a heart beat. I have seen them as low as 43k private sellers w/low miles. Since I do have the lil one I went w/the 1SS/RS due to the backseat but atleast I have the LS3 lol

As awesome as the Corvette is and I've owned a few of them. Take a look a look at most of the guys drivng them. The new generation of 50 something 'Vette owners for the most part look like Guidos with Vegas chains around their neck. At least my Guido chain will be hidden by the high sides and low roofline of a Camaro..........LOL.

I think guys that own Z06's for the most part recognize its one of the best performing cars on earth for its price are more serious than the vert guys who bought just to look good

Clif<<<<<<<<self efacing 50 something

Fair enough but try not to let the demographic decide what car you will drive. I was 30 when I bought a new Corvette in 96'. Miss those days but I have so many more toys now... Drive a C6 Z06 and you might change your mind. A guy I know has an 07' that is cammed. One badazz sounding car.....

Every car has some crazy stereotype associated with it. For my part, I know 4 people with Corvettes. NONE of them are as described above. In fact, one of them is so far the opposite, the comment made me chuckle a little.

If you like the car, get it. Don't worry about who else gets it. This applies to all vehicles. (excluding the Prius...)
