Rate That Mod Day 25: RX Catch Can
We're Closed!! GET OFF MY LAWN!!
Alright...let's get down to business!! The Scores so far! Cold Air Inductions Intake 9.59 Kooks LT Headers 9.47 MRT v2 9.38 Anvil Notched Spoiler 9.21 Stainless Works Retro Chambered Catback 8.94 Texas Speed Long Tube Headers 8.89 Vmax CNC Ported Throttle Body 8.59 ZL1 Bumper Swap 8.39 Muffler Delete (V8) 8.29 Plasti - Dip 8.15 MPD1 Z-Force Hood 8.12 Ark DTS Catback 7.64 NS-1 Stripe Package 7.46 Sinister Hood 6.77 Kenne Bell Supercharger 6.74 AAC Afterburner Taillights 5.93 Rideskinz Aggressor 2 5.63 Technostalgia Taillights 5.63 AeroBlade Spoiler 4.17* Terminator CF Hood 3.89 Lambo Doors 3.30 GM High Wing Spoiler 2.99 Razzi Body Kit 2.30 Muffler Delete (v6) 1.32 Alright as you can see with the Technostalgia lights pretty much in the middle for the score. Some of the concerns about it were reliability and LED size. On to today's Mod, good ol RX Catch Can. Ive actually heard some people say that the can really isn't needed that it is just a gimmick. But to be quite honest there is no denying the evidence out there of the amount of oil that the catch can keeps out of the system! My score is 9/10 I also want to say that when applicable I will try to use pictures and videos to represent the mods in question just to give people an idea of what the mod is like if they do not already know. I pull these at random either from Google, YouTube or even this website. If you find that I have used something you submitted and want me to take it down please let me know and I will immediately! If you have any suggestions on what you would want to see next on Rate That Mod please let me know and send me a PM! ![]() Last edited by FaytalsCamaro; 06-03-2013 at 09:50 AM. |

I voted 10/10.
Before I installed it I could smell "oil" inside the car after highway runs. After I installed it, no more "oil" smell. And I took off the can the other day to see how much oil I had in it and there was some in it so it certainly does work!

Car is built to function fine without it, but I have one and assume its doing something. The way some people on here swear by it is ridiculous. You'd think the car won't last more than 500 miles without a catch can...

Yeah I agree with the posts above. I think it's mostly snake oil. I know it catches crap, but if it weren't caught, it would just be burned. When I put on my mace spacer, my intake and runners were clean without one.

I've been reconsidering it as a mod--based on some of the threads where folks have had problems with leaks.

I just got a decent amount of oil out of mine. Drained it for the first time. Thats enough proof for me.
Oil shouldnt be in the intake. I dont care if most of it gets burned away, id rather it be in the can. RX has a ton of research behind theirs. Fit, finish and quality was great. |

Great catch can, I just wish they were more readily available.

I don't care what the doubters say - I don't want that crap recycling through my intake and the RX can catches it before it has a chance to. First mod I did was install a RX Catch Can on my new SS. 10/10
