Different Levels of camaros

Is it just ...

RS = v6
z28 = v8
ss = v8sc

im just trying to gauge how much I need to save for to get the 2010 camaro z28.

I have an Impala so this is all new to me

We don't know what they will be named, we think that it wil be the three engines that you mentioned. For all of what we think on the matter:

Nobody knows for the next generation, but tradition tells us that Z28 signifies sport tuning and SS signifies overall power. The RS trim is usually an appearance package associated with the V6 but it can be added to any Camaro so long as it is offered that year. There is no reason to believe or to doubt that a supercharger will be available. GM will match the competition's high-end trims, but there is no reason to believe that SS or Z28 will be superior to one another. All evidence points to a V6 and a V8 at launch with the possibility of a turbo I4. Any additional trims beyond 400 horsepower are pure speculation.

If you are looking to buy the V8 that isn't supercharged, you will need to save close to $30,000. We are guessing it will start around 27k or 28k.

Although I agree with most that's been posted, I can't help but wonder if the SS will be the top dog again. It seems that more attention is being paid to CamaroZ28.com, so I imagine that if there is any sort of input from the internet from enthusiasts, it has come from there. In addition, I remember a post from Father stating that major annoucements, and what-not, would be posted directly on that site (although I see that Father spends a lot of time here too ) I guess I'm trying to say that because it seems like the Camaro team spends a lot of time on a Z28 website, maybe the Z28 will become the top dog this go around. Although, the trend regarding "SS" badges on other products lead me to also believe that may still hold on this car.

Like DG said though, know one knows yet. There is going to be a big deal next month for a very lucky few and major annoucements at Indy in September so for now, most any information found anywhere is speculation.

Welcome ;D

Add $500 to $1000 to the price of a Mustang with exactly the same options. That's the minimum cost. It may cost more.

It shouldn't, though. They're must compete to within Mustang prices. The car's overall value for that dollar amount will then sell itself. If price goes any more than a thousand dollars above Mustang, it's going to be tough to sell in the quantities the want.

This is the most educated guess I've been able to compile judging on everything we've heard to date:

V6=~$22k
'base' V8 = ~$28k
"GT500 fighter" = $40-$45k.
