Hey Hey!! Don't point at me!! Subaru is Japanese!! ![]() This is terrible though. Reminds me of the past stuff that has happened to my family's cars. Hell, my mothers car got left with no Oil in it after an oil change!! They had to replace the motor....

You'd definitely know it if a piece of metal that big was attached to your tire. It would vibrate.

But as Tag said, he's a nice guy and he should know I don't mean any disrespect, moderator or not.Of course I would be pissed, but not at the audio place. Everyone is saying it looks like scissors, but to me it still looks like a knife with the handle removed. And unless the other end of "whatever it is" is sharpened, there is no way you could jam that into a tire, even with a hammer. You would have to run over it. In the case of my tire with the wrench, I hit the wrench with the front tire, which must have kicked it up enough to make it jam into the rear tire. If someone wanted to retaliate for some reason, they would just put a knife in the sidewall, it's a lot easier.

Looks like a sawzall blade. There is NO way you picked that up off the road. I hope the surprises are over. And nothing else,"pops" up.

Just a thought Doug. Do you have names of the employees at the shop? You have your duty logs. Maybe cross reference? I just can't see someone puncturing the tread with something like that unless they propped it up and drove over it. I know this will make me check into road hazard ins.

Since I know how to spell clairvoyant and genius, I guess the answer is YES.

Show a little respect. Show me some real intelligence and I may one day be a fan of yours. Maybe we can get back to the original topic for starters?

WOW..horrible story!
Just a couple things tho. There seem to be a lot of marks on the knife blade, as far as i can tell from the picture, as if it had been resting on a road and been driven over. Also what can happen is an object on the road can be made airborne after a car drives over it placing it at the appropriate angle to enter the tire. Also tires don't always go flat right away especially in such a case as this that the object is smooth and will seal the hole somewhat. Anyway just saying there could be other explanations. Also although the tire could probably be patched it would never be safe enough to rely on at speed. The blade of the knife would have cut through a lot of steel cords. If it was me however i would patch it and keep it in case you ever have a situation where you need a tire and can't get one right away. I know most (or all) have pegged responsibility on the stereo shop but i thought i would offer an alternative view. P.S i have been a licensed class A mechanic for about 20 years and spent the first 2 years of my apprenticeship changing tires and batteries

tag 2 things:
1. get your old tire back. get it patched, if possible, & save it for a rainy day. 2. try & find out what type of knife that is? Strage lookin', with those 2 holes in there, and/or see if there is a matching knife elswhere in the shop... |

The end sticking in the tire is the part where a handle would have been. Looks like a plain ole steak knife that had the handle and most of the blade broken away from it. JMO.
