It does look like they might of been doing some burnout with it. They might of figured you set the ODO but if they just burned out in the parking lot with it.
See the smudges? Those normally come off after a few miles of driving. They suck... sorry Tag. |

1 - That Tire could have ben patched from the inside........without question.
2 - Tire rack has the tires for $372 Front, $413 Back. They are in stock and can ship for next day. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...&filterType=oe 3 - That was done on purpose. Never complain and then leave your car anywhere, not even the dealer, people suck. Sorry to see your trouble, take the old tire to a real tire place and get it patched as a spare. |

1. You are correct. However, we could put 3 screwdrivers through that hole w/out problem. THAT was what we were worried about. It could be patched, but it was "highly likely" that it would leak or that I could have issues later on at high speeds. Umm....
...high speed and issues don't work well together for me.![]() 2. Yes, that is a great price. But, that is not inclusive of mounting, balancing, etc., I'm sure. Will next day shipping get it there the next day?...or the day after? No one had my tire and I could not drive it from Monday to Wednesday since there was no spare. 3. Quite possibly. I agree. And I agree some more. Thanks for the apology, but...what can I do... I'd love to get it patched, but I just don't want to chance it. |

your a cop, you should have had the knife fingerprinted then have all the people at that shop printed and if anyone matched the print on the knife then just come back to that shop in uniform and arrest him that would be awesome!

You can see a deep gouge in the center and the fresh burn marks. Unless you burned out right before or during drop off. Sorry man on your birthday to be so negatory. |

Ok here is my new theory. They took the car around the back of the store and did a burnout and the high rotation is what made the knife cause the damage vs just normal speed. The burn marks and the gouge look like some heat was involved.
Horseplay is possible culprit. I would ask the local shops if they heard anyone doing a burnout. |

RMA guidlines for a safe repair are not to be bigger than 1/4 inch. That things is way bigger than that. Do not use just a patch. The injury must be filled with a rubber plug like material and then patched. All major Tire Retailers will not fix a tire that does not conform to RMA guidelines. All tire manufacturers recommend a repair be done according to the RMA guidlines. The guy could put three screwdrives in the puncture so definatley way too big. That tire could not be repaired properly or they would have fixed it. There is so much incorrect information on the net it is rediculous. The best I could come up with is a sample poster of RMA guidlelines. Sample but accurate.

That sucks dude! Some bad luck.
For future reference, I believe the tire could have been repaired with an inside patch, not plugs. On another note, I grow more jealous of your car daily!!

I am not cheap when it comes to tires, I usually replace my "Summer Tires" at between 15-20,000 miles. They loose their edge, and when you like to corner, like I do, they stop being as safe, or as tight. |
