Dont be suprised how much power you lose up here in the alttitude. Your car will run ALOT different up here....and NOT in a good way.
Only good thing is....everyone elses car runs the same way!
Is it worth getting the car retuned?

Its always good to have the tune checked. We can check it out and if need be can retune. Being NA you should be fine.

I'm assuming you had the car tuned already down at sea level in Delaware since you have a camshaft w/LS3 conversion done. If the car was professionally tuned for the camshaft and other mods you've done, you should be fine. The O2 sensors will let the ECM know to lean the fuel mixture automatically up here. I'm actually driving my car to Vegas tomorrow, and can't wait to feel how she feels down there!! It's gonna be a blast!

I will kindly disagree!

If you have a cam and other supporting mods you "NEED" to have it tuned for high altitude. Too rich can be just as bad, if not worst then a lean tune.

I was on the assumption that he's already had it tuned at sea level for the cam and other supporting mods. If one needs to retune these cars every time you change altitude, what's the point of having O2 and MAP sensors on these cars? I thought the ECM is analyzing and comparing data from the O2 and MAP sensors, and constantly adjusting the fuel mixture in order to achieve Stoichiometric combustion? Once the fuel curve and timing maps on the ECM have been set, the ECM should adjust the IDC, but based off of the tuning map that he currently has. If that weren't the case, then whenever I drive my car to Vegas, it really shouldn't feel very much different than it does up here, and should be running way too lean down there all the time. I'm sure you'll disagree with me, but that's my understanding.

That is a speed density tune. That's what I have and what all reputable tuners use from what I know. It never hurts to have tune tweaked for the high altitude or just verified by a good tuner though. That's what I did when I moved out to Colorado.

Just made it to Colorado Springs. I won't have a house for a while and after 1600 miles my car needs a thorough cleaning. Any suggestions for a legitimate car wash in town? I was looking at the Hub. I would rather do it myself but do not have the resources. Thanks.

Welcome to Colorado! I do not know about any car washes in the springs but if I am not using my Adams Polishes 2 bucket method with blow dry and have to use a wash I look for a touch less with good blowers to dry it. We also have a carwash with a handheld blower in the bay that still runs off the quarter feed.

Ended up going to water world or something. Hand wash and wax. Guy did a great job. Just a bit expensive.
So is there ever any meet ups in the springs? Would love to meet some fellow owners in this area.

Most of the meet ups are in the Denver area. There are a growing number of us down south people. Maybe we should plan one in this area. They did come down for the trip up Pikes Peak.

Nothing local anymore. End of the season is here. There was a small car show in Parker last Saturday and the big one in Wyoming Sunday. Next get-together is Oct 5th in Golden for the last SuperCruise. Check that out online, or follow us on Facebook. Way more activity there. Just look for the Camaro Club of the Rockies (CCOTR) and ask to be added. Assuming it doesn't snow, most folks will be in Golden for that last cruise. We usually have 40 + members show up for that one!

A drive I love doing is 285 South, left @ Pine Junction onto Rt 126 towards Deckers, then 67 South towards Woodland Park. At Woodland Park, turn right onto Rt 24. Right onto Rt 9. Back to 285. It's a GORGEOUS drive and smooth roads, with very little traffic ever. If you wanna do it next weekend with a few other Camaros, gimmie a call and we can round up a few Camaros to do it together. I'll PM you my number. Congratulations on the new ride! Looks great.
