Such a bummer dude. Sorry to see that. Have you already touched the car as I have?

My advice is to warn anyone getting into your vehicle to be very careful opening the doors.
It's a BMW... so they over engineer everything, including the way the door opens.

It shouldn't be too bad to fix. I just had a lot of damage fixed on my car, and you'll be so happy you did it.

I wish more parents would instill some kind of care in their children because they learn so easily. The just have to be taught to care. But all the time, I see kids getitng out of their family car in a parking lot and just FLING the doors open with reckless abandon. It makes me cringe every time. And generally their parents do the same.

It sure would be nice if we could finally have cars that didn't ding so easily. The Corvette material is better than metal in this regard. But there must be a better way.
X2, my kids were taught to be careful with doors. One of them is now a member here.

My wife got her first brand new factory-ordered car back in 1985 (a bright red '85 Pontiac Fiero SE V6 with optional WS6 suspension). We took it over to my Mom's house and she let my Mom drive it around the block. Then my Mom pulled back into her driveway and parked it alongside her house and opened the driver's door right into the brick wall and scraped paint off the door edge. She didn't even realize what she'd done until I stood there incredulously and pointed it out to her.

To a lot of people a car is just a car. I'm not one of those people.

lol Im with you, I do that all the time. I don't see how people can spend 30K plus on a car and just park in the closest crowded spot.. I park so far away it prob looks ridiculous but I don't care, 11000 miles and no dings yet! (knock on wood) I get a roll of the eyes from my girlfriend EVERY time tho lol

I did rub her 97 Camaro with mine one time tho backing out of the garage right behind my back wheel on the bumper. but by the grace of god no damage just a tiny tiny chip that disappeared after a dot of touch up

She may have done it on purpose to get even for her front bumper you damaged.
