Nice litle... Always nice to close things down at work. Give him a backhand for all of us!

I need to find a good picture of a motor being pulled from a 5th gen. I'm not doing it any time soon, but I'd like to see where the chains should be attached. I think the Moreno brothers might have a pic in their thread. That sounds like a perfect way to spend my afternoon.

Yea I remember this thread, but hey I called my self and I got the info "I" needed. If guys/gals want to be cheap or cut corners then they can keep their Ls3 pump, myself I'd upgrade to the 10296, why cause its made of better materials and its already blueprinted. I has this discussion with Ted Jeannetty as well too in another thread. Is it an upgrade absofrickinlutely. Now the L99 pump is a different story. They seem to hold up good, it's the Ls3 that has been a PITA along with the Ls2 and Ls1 lol.

Alright guys here's my deal. I'm really wanting to go VVT with my LS3 M6 as I'm really liking the flat torque line and being able to extend my rev and maintaining high hp so I can stay higher in my powerband when shifting, but at the same time I find myself flip flopping back to some of the more popular LS3 cams. Can y'all give me y'all's opinions and pros and cons of each.

I'd like to add VVT to my LS3 too, but we're sort of at a disadvantage because so few (or none) have done it. It might take a little trial and error to get it back up and running.

There are some wiring harness differences (not that big of a deal)
You'll need the L99 phaser and oil pump
You'll have to flycut your pistons
I don't know if the PCMs are different. You're going to need Rhino79 or TSP to walk you through the tuning process.

Aside from that I don't think it's all that crazy of a project. We discussed this briefly in Rhino's new VVT cam thread. Still a cool idea to me.
