I hear you he's into drag racing, didn't drive it hard, and you were with him, but you're a brave man. I haven't let my buddies that have had Camaros past drive mine

I imagine the LS3 does it more, but it's even noticeable in the L99. Sometimes when I get home, I just sit there for a minute and let it idle--basking in all that V8 glory--and every once in a while, it'll give a little shake & wobble. It's just the beast under the hood trying to get loose, hehe.

After I put my headers on, I noticed something similar, but the RPMs dropped more and it was a slightly different feeling. Turned out, I had a loose spark plug. What you're feeling is probably just the normal lope of that 6.2L bad boy.

Mine got better with miles (5000). Also check that little radiator hose that runs from the fill cap under the intake tube. Mine was pressing hard against it and heating it up. I rotated the clamp at the fill cap to give it about 1/2 inch clearance.

I also think hard acceleration can suck up oil if it is overfilled even slightly.

I had the same thing in my VW and it was a misfire with a part. Forgot what.

Anyway, my car feels like its shaking pretty rough when just sitting there but I guess it's common for these cars with a lot of pure power lol
No cel for me

I don't know what you guys are talking about at all. Hard idle? That suddenly comes up after somebody drove it, and that is "normal' on a pushrod V8?

My 1SS is an LS3 with 17K miles. Mine doesn't do this, and I'd be unhappy if it suddenly started. The last V8 car I drove before this car has a pushrod V8 engine I built in it, with a mildly lumpy cam, and it's smooth as far as all that. But it never suddenly 'idled hard' without a reason. Like the failed valve keeper on the driver's side head that I caught in time. I have been described as a 'finicky' engine tuner- not the type that uses a laptop computer, the type that uses a dwell/tach, a vaccum gauge, strip kit, and an engine stethoscope (or a hammer handle).

My LS3 runs the same winter or summer, pulls hard in every season. I understand the noises and 'feels' of the pushrod V8 engine and I've been driving large displacement V8s for twenty years and I do not experience what you folks are describing in my LS3.

It's not so much that it suddenly started; it's that he pointed it out to me. It's been doing it, I just hadn't paid any mind to it until he said something, which is why I asked. I respect his opinion, but a majority of his experience is with muscle cars and drag cars, so I figured the combined insight of nothing but guys with my same car could help.

Also, just for you, a quick pic of my Chevelle with my buddy's '99 Z28 that we swapped a six speed into

I have some big plans for it in the coming few years... LS7 swap, and complete suspension overhaul... we'll see how it goes, and if I can quit dumping money into the Camaro.

What you are feeling is normal in the LS3. It has a decent cam for a production car. That '70 SS of yours is sweet. You might want to consider a LSX 454 for it. Less $ than a LS7 and more power.

I noticed that, but not at filling up. Sometimes at start up it seems like i misfires or "shakes"

Normal?

Dirty intake can cause this as well. Depending on your mileage, whether or not it has lived with a catch can and your fuel grade. May want to see about an upper induction cleaning. There IS going to be a lope. Par for the course.

It's pretty mild, only 1800 miles on the car, have a catch can and running 93 octane... but...

...had a close friend of mine that was a Corvette tech at the Milford Proving Grounds take a look today... said it was normal.
