You can really feel the acceleration and you are going very fast. That Camaro just doesn’t have that snap your neck quick feeling probably because of the torque management.

Is that torque management there in the manual cars? If so, can you tune it so it gives it a 100% when you hammer the pedal?

It's decently fast. But 13 seconds in the 1/4 is not FAST. My 92 Vette will do that all day.

It's all relative. Relative to what you are used to.

If you don't think sub 5.0 second cars are fast, you are spoiled and have been fortunate enough to put you butt in some nice seats. If you don't think 155 mph is fast, you may very well drive ovals and make regular left turns for your weekend fun.

That being said, the LS/LT is quick, the SS is fast. Yes a Corvette is faster and a Z06 is faster still and a ZR1 is even more so. Just depends on what you've been driving.

Just wanna get opinions from those who have driven the camaro as well as "fast" cars.
To me Quick = fast from a dead stop. And Fast = high speed after starting.

My car is definately fast and NOT quick.

the thing about cars being fast is this. I find a lot of people say something is not fast because either they are jealous, dont know what they are talking about, or KNOW somebody that has a faster car.

I am almost positive there is also torque management on the manual cars too. You get all the power but not all at once. Yes you can remove the torque management with a tune.

There is no TQ Management in manual transmissions.

TQ management is there on auto's so it can help protect drive train through out warranty. Autos do have clutches but they are warrantied items.

Manuals already have a built in protection device called a clutch. Clutches in manuals are NOT warrantied.

So GM installs TQ to protect itself from repair costs.

The fact that you don't get all the torque all at once, is the nature of every engine ever built minus electric engines.

wouldnt the clutch be warrantied since its in the drive train. i can see if it not due to driver neglect, but if they cant prove that I see no reason why it shouldnt be covered.

Of course he's gonna say it's only quick. He is trying to sell you a 700 or 1000 horsepower version of the same car. He's promoting a product.

Throw on Launch Control and take a blast off, and try and tell me that the 1-2 shift won't snap back your passenger's head. This thing runs 0-60 in under 5 seconds and has done sub 13 second 1/4 mile runs STOCK.

Just goes to show you how much technology has advanced that people think performance like that is only 'quick'

I took 2 of my buddy's for a ride. I gunned it got up to 105mph and asked my buddy up front what he thought he said not bad to get up to 70 and other buddy in back said you way off we were at 105mph and just let off gas didn't brake and guy up front looked over and we was still coasting at about 85mph and he was shocked he said it's so smooth you don't feel like your going that fast! It's very smooth ride but it will put your head back in the seat! I'm very happy with my car so far! Crazy thing is at about 500 miles on her she livened up and around 1000 miles a little more then other day at about 1500 miles she livened up even more. I been reading were some people say they don't get fully broke in till 3000 miles. If that's case and around every 500 mile incraments she gets more frisky than she was before I can't wait to see how big a beast she's going to be!!!! It's so nice being able to cruise around getting bout 20-22MPG then when you want some power you put her to floor and off she goes. Just wish she had more of a growl. Other than that I love the way she runs. She is more than fast enough for me. But I'm not a racer. I just enjoy driving her and knowing if I need the power I got the power.

All 4th GEN V8's and newer have torque management now. Autos and manuals. They have been this way since the 2005 GTO's and vette's. It is there to protect the entire drivetrain not just the auto transmission.

i dont know i think alot of it has to do with the size of the car. i am use to small cars like my scion tc, and my 280z, but the camaro i have hit 120 and i told my girlfriend that was 120 and she responded with it felt like 70. Now for the fast or quick question. I am going to say its quick i agree with (rockytophummer) its good enough for me have the power when you need it but will also say fast would be more professional for pro dragster, correct me if i have it backwards but thats how i see it if you ask other then that if this question wasn't asked i would have never thought about it.
