The speed is set to the speed ratings of the tires. So while I am not 100% sure, looking at his pics I'm pretty sure.

...I think the 118 mph speed limiter is due to the tires...LS...If they're the PZeros on the OPs LT car, it would be the 154...same as the SS...

V6 models with the RS package or ones with the 19 inch Pirelli's get the 155 mph, same as the V8.

Mustang V6's are limited to near that speed not based on tire rating but because of driveshaft failures.

I really don't care. People who make those comments are uninformed, and probably are driving some Corolla or something. I would never think of the V8. I have most of the bolt on mods you can do and I did them myself, and enjoyed it immensely. I go to the track a couple times a year, and run better times than the small blocks from the muscle car era unless they have had extensive internal work done to the engine. Ignore them man. Their usually just dicks who will never own a performance car and need the V8 thing as a penal extension. Just honk on it a bit, get a little chirp out of the tires and enjoy how F'in awesome it is to drive your car!!!!

You have your opinion..heres mine. Personally I think its pretty silly that you tell others the rwhp when in reality your car does have 400Hp...not the 320 - 330 rwhp which it puts out at the wheels. GM gave the car 400 HP, so why make it seem like less?? You honestly tell me me if a 5.0 owner comes over and asks you how much HP does that thing make your going to say "330 HP"? No...your either going to say 400 HP, or 330 rear wheel horsepower. We don't have to define it as rwhp everytime we quote a HP figure.

Now...as your momma should have taught you for in situations such as this...if you ain't got nothing good to say, then just butt out.

I do have a manual so I don't get the auto stuff, but I do get the ohhh why'd you waste money on a v6, stuff lol. And 95% of the time I just look back at their 4 door hondas/toyotas/fords, etc. and say "wanna race?" lol. Don't let them bother you, have fun with your sexy camaro!!

Now that that my earlier response is out out of the way I'll respond to the OP.

Some may just not understand, but I don't really have a big desire for the SS. Sure..if I could get the glorious sound from my V6 I'd be in heaven...but the car is plenty quick. People talk about these things like they are the 140 or 160 HP (whatever it was) V6s from the 80s or 90s when in reality these cars are capable of doing 0 - 60 in under 6 seconds which is still pretty respectable these days and unheard of for the working man's pony car not that long ago.

I tell them my car is making probably 340 ish HP (Oh sorry..its at the crank) and I'm perfectly fine with that from a little V6.

The only complaint I have about the car is the weight. Otherwise..I freaking love it.

Your entitled to your opinion. And for the record, if a 5.0 owner asks what my HP is I will tell them it dyno'd at 371. What that would amount to in the eyes of GM I have no idea and really don't care.

And besides saying the top speed of the one guys car is 118 (which is fact if you look at his tires) I do not see where I am bashing or saying something incorrect. You can look at any of my other posts, I never bash the V6, in fact always stick up for it.

So I said my piece from here on ill but out.

Nope, my LLT is stock other than a CAI and exhaust and I've had it up to 130.. I only backed off because it scared me going that fast...

Correct because you have an RS and its rated for that. I did not say all V6's were 118 rated. The other member as a 1lt non RS.
